Hi all

I think I have come across another repro in my collection. 3rd item now. Upon looking more closely at my POTF Yoda to sell, the bottom of the bubble is essentially a flap. So was asked if the figure can be removed to which it can't, but obviously the cane can fall out.

So on closer look at the cane I am pissed and gutted as I believe it to be either a V2 or V4 repro according to TIG.

What do you guys think?? I know it's hard to tell from photos. Cane is bendy, has plastic flashing and a little extra bit on the bottom end almost like where it been cut from a moulding tree. Also a little sticky.

I used to have a couple of Power of the Force Yoda figures and one unique thing about them is that the cane that they came with was different from the standard Kenner version in that it bends slightly and is more rubbery in texture, I think it's the same for the Meccano Yoda as well. Here's a link on Power of the Force/Meccano Yoda's which I found helpful when I had mine.

You can see in it that the cane clearly bends. Hope this helps.

Just had a look at the repros on TIG and I don't think it looks like either of those versions, it's the wrong colour for the V2 and wrong colour and shape for the V4, your cane is fatter and a more reddish colour which would be correct.

I have never owned one but speak regularly with a couple of guys on FB who have written some interesting stuff on Yoda. Here is a pic from their posts and as already mentioned it is reminiscent of the soft Meccano cane. Note the detailing on the curved part of the cane.
