These are American I think. They come in a couple of different designs and colours. Mine was like £15 brand new and I use it as a con bag.

These are made by British company Frankel & Roth, under the brand name Bags of Character. There are 6 backpacks in total, 3 red and 3 blue, with different characters and designs. I think they most likely date from 1983-84 but I've also seen it suggested that they may be later, from around 1990.

The same company also made a range of shoulder bags with ESB and ROTJ images, as well as pencil cases with Jedi designs, and silver character pencil cases which are particularly hard to find. There's also a 'Collection Commander' soft vinyl action figure case, which isn't SW branded but features SW action figures on the pack photograph.

Here's my Frankel & Roth collection so far...

I stand corrected. There's a piece of paper in the flap on the front which may have a date on it?

cheers Jason

Suits you sir!

Pomse2001, I've not seen any dates on the labels for these, but I think it's a reasonable guess that they are Jedi-era bearing in mind that they have the Jedi logo and characters.

They are not easy to find but they do come up occasionally on eBay or on the FB groups and when they do, they don't tend to go for particularly high prices.

I bought it at MCM in October 2016 off one of the stalls.

Here's Biff Tannen modelling it at that show.

It's pretty worn now. But has been to Mexico, Jamacia, Celebration Orlando, several FFs, Echo Lives and LFCC/MCMs since.

Ideal size for cardbacks!

:)

And I use it as an imagined part of my cosplay for James Halliday from Ready Player One. I figured if he had a bag, it may well have been a Star Wars one...
