I received a repainted Nein Numb in a batch of figures I bought years ago. I put it to one side and forgot I had him until earlier this week.

His Jacket and boots are black. To be honest it looks ok ( not that i'd Display it ) but the question I am
Left with is, how much of the original figures were hand painted ? The complex way they would need hand painting is beyond my comprehension. So I think in the back of my ( small ) brain that a machine was involved somewhere on the production line. But my Mrs says I am completely wrong and they would have had to hand paint a lot of the smaller details.

Anyone know what they actually did in the factories ?

As far as I am aware they used spray masks and spray paint machines.
That was the reason that the amount of colours were kept to a minimum and different versions of paint apps exist.
As production went on sometimes they changed the way figures were painted ie painted and moulded legs Han.
There was a video link to this somewhere on here but I can't find it at present.
Hope that helps settle an argument!
