to the best of my knowledge they never made this set did they :?

That's not just custom packaging. The whole toy is a custom.

i think he's trying to say a geniune prototype box would cost that much, but as you know this is a 100% custom product, kenner or paltioy never even thought about making this. he's a bit of a muppet saying that!!
