Anyone seen this? Was this guy a well known collector?

Sorry if this has been discussed but I couldn't find a thread on it. Didin't check on RS. For some reason I can't see the video....

Yeah, just saw the video finally. Mostly just costumes, replicas, few life-size stormtroopers. Nothing outrageously special that I could see... I'd be interested to see what else he had, and what he manages to get for the lot. Not bad publicity for him tho to get a vid on the beeb.

There is something about watching an out of breath middle aged man dressed up in a Star wars costume wielding a lightsaber in front of a camera that REALLY doesn't do us collectors any favours!

I even felt embarrassed watching this guy talk about his collection

LOL yeah I felt a bit bad for laughing at him ! I guess it's time to admit, we are all sad Star Wars collecting bastards   (although nothing like the guy in the video ;) )

Really hope this guy isn't a member of SWF!

well......as it happens....

It's not me.

I think there are levels of sadness/geekiness within star wars fandom. And I think most of us on here seem to have in check. That fact that we understand the sadness of it all goes a long way to making us normal....well, semi normal.

I don't like to cap on people but the only time I felt bad for the guy was when they ran the footage of him dressed up as an X-Wing Pilot swinging that lightsaber back and forth for about 10 seconds...

I've been to that guy's house, bought a load of vintage off him after his lock-up was robbed, and he wanted shot of what was left.

He does have a vintage collection too, but it's a bit of a misleading article as he actually runs a costume hire business. He does all the shows - his stall is 'Skywalkers'

It sounds to me like he's selling the business if its a millions worth
