Swedish stickers on boxes and moc's

Postby søren » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:49 pm

Hi guys

Here is my post about the little stickers was put on all vintage Star Wars boxed items sold in Sweden back in the days. At least from ESP to POTF on to Droids.

So I have made this little thread where you are more than welcome to post any pictures or knowledge that you have on the topic.

In Sweden it was Playmix / Scanditoy / Brio that importet Star Wars toys. They olso had Barbie and MOTU among others.

I dont' know if it was them who put on the little stickers or the local dealers. But in the larger vichels like the Snow Speder and X-Wing there where a photocopyed manual on swedish put in the box . So it seems likely that it was playmix who put on the stickers.

The stickers came in difrent collors:

orgrange and yellow . Seem to be the color on the ESP boxes.

Yellow . seem to be the color on the ROTJ , POTF and Droids boxes

The stickers came in servel difretn tekst and and layoyts:

Dockor/Figurer ingår ej innehåller ett djur/fordon. Dolls/Figures not included. Holds one ship / creatur

And
Dockor/Figurer ingår ej / Dolls/Figures not included.

It seems that there is no boxes from Star Wars that has survived or they might not have put the stickers on them that early.

Great stuff Sören. I really envy your MOCs with those swedish price stickers!

As Sören said it was a company called PlayMix that had the license for Star Wars toys in Sweden. I managed to get some PlayMix stickers from a guy who's dad worked with graphical design at PlayMix when Star Wars was new! I also have a couple of special PlayMix displays only made for the Swedish market...

PlayMix logo stickers

There are a couple of other types of swedish stickers around as well:
Image
This one says: "Doll is not included in the package"

Image
Variant of a sticker on the speeder bike in the bottom. Says "Dolls/figures are not included".

Image
This is from an AT-AT box with a sticker telling what kind of batteries that are needed and that they are not included.

Johan . Great ad to the post mate . Do you know why the put these stickers on the the boxes ? Was it Playmix or was it by law they had to do it ? In Denmark where Brio also did the import . No stickers where put on the boxes .

Soren, I´d be interested in a swedish stickered Speeder Bike.

Do you have one for sale or know a source ?
