Hi Guys,

Ok, the background behind this is it was a trade with someone in the US. I traded an item against two SW 21 backs. One is fine (albeit a bit of a beater) this one however I had concerns before and now that I have it in hand have serious concerns over. The seller confirmed before completing the transaction that he had it independently checked and that its not a reseal, I have my doubts.

So the seal I would call glossy, no waffle pattern what so ever, the bottom of the bubble overshoots the end of the card by a small amount. On the rear of the card there is a strange warping on the card almost in the shape of the bubble. There is creases showing on the card which seem to stop at the bubble.

Anyway like I said I was concerned before but now I am really worried. Any opinions would be welcome and greatly aprreciated :?:

Is that a card tear inside the bubble to the left of the figure? That would indicate a reseal.

cheers Jason

There is slight tearing to the bottom along the lines of the stem inside the bubble, but not around the body of the figure (from what I can see). However i think this can be standard with normal cards where it has lifted slightly along the lines of the stem. Also apologies for the crap pics, I am truly awful with a camera and more so because its an iphone

The other thing that occurred to me was why make a reseal out of such a badly beaten bubble. The problem areas you might think make it a reseal could just be the result of the pounding it's taken.

I have a similar ESB Vader. Slick seal and like you say, a warping, almost sucking in of the card behind the bubble.

Some cards did have a slick seal, not the waffle pattern.

Thanks guys, I have heard of the occasional slick seal, this one was just worrying me. And the above point had occured to me, why reseal a bubble with issues to card that has issues of its own? Anyway just wanted to get second opinions which I am very grateful for, so feel free to keep them coming. :)

Had a look and if it's a reseal it's a damn good one. Better than any of mine. They usually have visible tears somewhere around the bubble, or the print might be off where the bubble has been put back on. Also if PVA or similar has been used it warps the card slightly because of the moisture.

As for resealing a damaged card, i've resealed some bad ones just for the hell of it. Keeps me off the streets  However, if I was resealing this one I would probably have tried to straighten out the bubble a bit. Might have been damaged since.

The bubble looks genuine but the pictures are a little blurry so it's difficult to see. Looks ok from what I can see.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I feel a bit better about it now and it is currently in place with the rest of my 12/20/21 backs and will do as a place holder until a find a suitable 12 back version
