Hi,

I've started to realise that some cards have an inner bubble/plastic insert that the figure sits in. Does anyone know if this is limited to POTF figures or should I expect to see this on some ROTJ as well?

Thanks

Carl

They were definitely on ROTJ cards too, Boba Fett - Desert Scene has one and I think Dengar had one too, probably to protect the card back from the edges of the figures Backpacks??

Cheers, Mike

Great stuff, cheers. I wonder if it was possibly when they started to realise they needed to look more of a quality product with consistency?

Anything for a forum member mate :D

Nah, I recently acquired a loose Boba which came with his card back and bubbles etc ( I reassembled them to make a cool looking display piece) and this is a photo I took before putting them together.

Although I like the inner bubble as it keeps the figure in one place, he is too tight against the outer bubble and his nose is a bit flat because of it.

I've got Palitoy Luke Jedi and Leia Boushh, both of which have inner trays.
Pretty sure the Gamorrean Guard had one, as well.

I believe that the inner trays were added to stop the figures moving around during transit from the factory to the shops - this prevented damage to both the figure and the bubble.

This is worth a quick read - http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1096914/

Interestingly the Palitoy 45a 3PO and Dengar have inner bubble trays and they r amongst the earliest MOCs known to have them being 2nd from last release Empire cards :!:
