Hi guys a few of my figures have paint loss or damage. Anyone know a specialist who can repaint them or know a way or guide to doing it myself so they look grand again! Not worried about losing value or originality of them just want them looking fresh again!

In general, the bulk of the guys on here prefer to keep things as they are - so no touch up, re-paints etc - although there are a few that do it and one guy has videos on Youtube if you search for them

Customizing is a different kettle of fish - if you want to do that then check out some of the threads on here - Steve (Savory100) has done some great custom work recently

Following on from my man Iain's post above, please please PLEASE make 100% sure of what you have before you start covering it in games workshop paint. The reason why? The ****ed up world of variant collecting, that's why. What could seem to be a mashed up beater might be something very rare and desirable that you don't want to paint.

Totally agree, customising is totally different. I only use beaters and funnily enough nearly all of them have come from Iain. I always check all of them twice before painting to make sure there is not a hidden gem in the rough too. All my customs are also of non-production figures, so they can never be passed off as original items.

When it comes to 'touch-ups and making them better', this is a bit of an oxymoron... touching them up doesn't make them better, it kills them forever and makes them worthless/as poor as a beater.

If you want perfect figures, please search them out and buy them; there are loads available (you'll find plenty on these boards) if you have some element of patience. Sell your almost perfect figures to an entry collector or one that is not after utter perfection to part fund your perfect replacements. The money you'll spend on the right paint and quality brushes will be the difference between the quality of figures anyway.

Think it's probably time to stop feeding the troll chaps

Any new user who's first three posts are about repros, repainting and Toytoni should be ringing alarm bells

wouldn't be surprised if his friend is Toytoni or Mr Orme...

Saw some vids about painting beat up vintage action figures from Toy Polloi on YouTube. He buys these figures for army building and says he will mention the fact that they are repainted when selling them. That should be the right thing in my opinion, so only for own use :D
