How to get the battery compartment fixed on a vintage star wars Darth Vaders star destroyers mediation chamber?
How do i fix the electric terminal on a old starwars toy?
how do i get rid of acid corrosion on toy battery comparments?
Im in the process of restoring a beat up dvsd.
The electrics (light) did not work.
Is was not the bulb as it was in working order
It was not spring button as this was clean and in good order
Conclusion the copper connector going from the spring button to where the it touches the bulb end must be the problem.
Upon inspection with a torch the copper strip had green acid corrosion on parts of the strip this interfered and topped the electric current
Solution
I rolled up 1 piece of kitchen roll soaked it in table vinegar pressed it against the connector strip put a paint brush down the chamber so it poked the out light bulb hole to hold the paper in place. I then left it for 12 hours while it got rid of the acid corrosion. I then got a old toothbrush put it down the chamber and scrubbed the connector strip.
Bulb put back in and now back in working order
Boom
Hope this method helps another collector or other toy enthusiasts on terminal fixes
Regards
Chris
