Worldwide takings $25 million more than expected apparently.

Must be all these people going to see it several times to work out if it's any good

Disney will be happy.

They put out a crap Star Wars Film but it still made loads of money.

The thing is people are now catching on and I know a load of people who say they will not be going to watch the next Star Wars Film because of how bad this one was or is.

It was criminally bad and heads should roll over it.

Glad to see it deservedly doing well, I think Solo will be more of a test, that's the one I'd have concerns about.

Solo is back to a May release date, that's really not far off now and were still yet to see anything from the movie. A teaser trailer in front of The Last Jedi would have been a bullseye in hitting the 'target audience' but nope. Nothing.

I went on the first Friday and there were about 10 people there, I thought it was very low key, the audience was very quiet. I'd guess they were the more die-hard type Star Wars fans.

Just been again with my son to Liverpool 1, big screen nearly full despite an 11am start, lots of belly laughing, a much more upbeat audience and it seemed to be received really well from the way people were talking on the way out. Guessing again, this looked like a much more mainstream audience.

Whilst it's topical for some people to hate everything about it, it's clearly not doing anything to diminish people going to see it and I know several younger families who'll be taking a look once the schools finish.

Zero chance it's going to do anything other than make a huge amount of money so I think people's heads are very safe on their shoulders.

Not surprised its smashing it; been three times and every time it was full (or less than a dozen empty seats)... pre-bookings of screenings this week at the three cinema in my town are all very very full and it seems all everyone is talking about.... what they think, when they're going etc.

not yet heard a bad review or comment from a non-Star Wars fan either... seems the only folk that dislike Star Wars right now are so called Star Wars fans...

Yeah, i said that to someone the other day. It seems to be if you consider yourself a SW fan, you won't like it, if you're just mildly into SW or can take it or leave it, you'll like the film. Very strange. Although I guess from Disney's point of view it is better that way round than the other.

Probably right, but why does she disagree with me on everything else in life as well?

Great, now Disney will be looking at the numbers and thinking next time we need more casino type scenes and cheesy floating Mary Poppins style moments.
