I bought this the other day and someone pointed out that the head was a Leia bespin, so I gave her a rub :D and notice that the bottom came up with a red tinge, it doesnt look like any other paint was affected. So my questions are
1. does this look like a factory error or a pop and replace custom (the head is pretty tight)?
2. Does anyone know why theres a red tinge on the bottom, it doesnt look like it was painted over, why would you paint it red then brown?
Any opinions welcome.

It could be but its too prominent and in areas that wouldnt get as much wear as others like the top of the head. Its a strange 1, especially with the bespin head

I would say a boil and pop custom. Factory errors are so hard to verify as genuine and customs are so rife.

He the head been repainted, as that is really common when customising as well.

I agree that it definitely looks like a head swap. The red colour could be due to repainting, but it could also simply be an area which received less spray in the factory, and the thinner coating of the brown paint shows more of the pink plastic underneath, resulting in a redder-looking colour.

Head swap for sure, but I'm not buying the repaint myself.
I do a fair few customs and know a few that do, I'm not aware of anyone using spray masks on figures or even airbrushing on that scale. Working with a brush as most customisers do, you wouldn't get the overall look that has been achieved here. Looking around the ears and hair line specifically you can see a faint over spray (thinner application); that is the lighter colour, so I would suggest that the lighter paint at the back of the neck is just a thinner application when painted at the factory.

Lol so it looks like an customised head put on an customised body to make a customised figure. Brilliant.
