VALUATION REQUEST BOBA FETT + COIN

Postby Murdock » Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:08 pm

Hy all!

Thank you in advance for your help. I've browsed through the depths of the internet and still found nothing about this gem. Would you please be so kind to help me valuate my item?

It is a Star Wars Power of the force Special collectors one with Boba Fett and a collectors coin produced in 1984.
It has a rocket launcher on the back of the char so i guess its from the very first ones cos they stopped productions of these cos of the safety rules.

I would be more than happy if someone would tell me what exactly i have and how much it is worth.

Thank you very much in advance!

A fellow soon to be collector, Murdock

It means it's a fake cardback and not an original. The same is also true of the R2 D2 (although someone does appear to have stuck a yellowed, possibly original blister onto it, but then forgot to add a footer). You can tell both are fake by the size and shape of the Euro-punch. Better quality photos would almost certainly also show a lack of glossy sheen to the cards. The R2 D2 figure is yellowing and possibly also has a repro sticker, but in any event has obvious wear to the dome. The Fett looks nice enough, although looks to possibly have the all-too common paint wear on the left side of his chest armour. Both figures have some value, as will the coin and blaster if genuine (which given the rest of the card is highly doubtful), but you're looking at low tens of pounds, not hundreds.

Boba Fett was never released on a POTF card, there was a toy fair mock up http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=47827 but this is not that rare piece.

As Stubbs has said this is a reproduction, card back and bubble kits are available on eBay for £12.50 and is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, poss £25.00, may appeal to Boba Fett collectors?

As for the R2, the fotter that the figure stands on is missing and the bubble is too big, so suspect that this is also a reproduction.

Sorry, that’s my opinion, will be intrested if others agree.

I agree also the fett looks like its a bit play worn with paint rubs on the chest armour. I would even say the R2 also looks like it is play worn on the dome.

So, Murdock, have you been scammed or are you an aspiring scammer?

If you list the R2 for sale do the decent thing and describe it for what it is.

How would you feel someone doing that on you selling it on knowing it's fake?
I also feel you always knew these where fake from your response because you didn't seem that disappointed or surprised for a new collector when you were told that they are fake.
