Hi there. I've just dug out my old star wars toys from storage and am looking to sell some items. I have a lovely R2D2 pop up lightsaber figure with original stickers and lightsaber. I'll attach some photos below. I'd be grateful for some guidance in terms of valuation and if I should put a reserve on it if I try site's like ebay. Many thanks.

I should think upwards of £270 in that condition. You could auction it on eBay. If you're really worried you can put a reserve price on but I can't imagine it won't sell for less than £250 and personally think a reserve price tends to put some people off bidding. You could always offer it as a BIN with offers on there or here if you preferred.

Thank you for your advice. I'm new to ebay and also this is the first time I've tried selling some of my collection. How does it work selling items on here? Do I set a price or do people make offers? Sorry for the million questions. I'll post more pictures for a better idea of value. :D

To sell on here you will have to post with a price and list it in the "for sale" section.
Just bear in mind that eBay / Paypal will each take a percentage of the winning bid, and if you put a reserve on it eBay may take even more than normal.
On here there are no fees and everyone here that I have delt with are 100% trustworthy, unlike eBay!
As for value, in that condition £350 - £400 on eBay, but don't forget those fees!
Good luck, it's a really nice R2.

That is a really nice pop up R2, the prices the guys have given you are bang on - it's a sought after figure in that condition.
You might want to consider getting it graded if you really want to sell for top dollar.

Thanks. Do you have any idea how much it costs to get it graded and what sort of price I'd get for R2 once done?

That's a cracking condition R2, grading a figure costs about £17.00 basic, although there are options that will increase the price, this link should help,

http://ukgraders.co.uk/star-wars-vintage-1977-1985/1057-star-wars-vintage-standard-loose-3-3-4.html

Remember to add on postage costs plus insurance to send it off and for it's return to you.

Hello again. I think I will sell this little droid and put him on the for sale thread over the next couple of days. I'm prepared for lots of questions but what info are people likely to want so I can put as much detail in the post. I'm a midwife and am about to do a run of night shifts so I'm not going to be super quick in responding to questions so if I can anticipate what info people want that would be fab. Also, are the photos I have posted here ok or are there any other angles people would want to see. Thank you again everyone who has commented and offered advice so far :D

- whether the head still clicks when turned
- whether the lightsaber still rises and falls when Head is rotated
- whether the legs are nice and tight
- whether the saber is in excellent condition (a lot can be scratched where people dig into the plastic to check it's an original

TBH though yours looks mint and I expect the answers to the above to all be yes. Can't see you'll have any trouble selling it on here. You have provided way mor images than on most sales posts
