Hi there.
I was wondering what the valuation would be for my "Definitive collection set". I will list below what it includes but let me tell you about my purchase..
I ordered it from HMV who had exclusive selling rights to this limited edition set. I ordered it and paid a deposit in Dec 1995. HMV were supposed to have 250 in each major branch. I got a phone call to collect and was told they only actually received 10! I made a spontaneous decision then to not open it. as you can see from the photo's its still original, vacuum sellophane sealed and as such abolutely mint.
It contains:
The 3 original films in digitally remastered THX VHS.
The making of starwars documentary
The making of the empire strikes back
The makiing of the return of the jedi
Original teasers and trailers from all 3 films
Interviews with George Lucas
The Lucasfilm archive film tour
galleries and interviews and various other VHS documentaries
Complete scripts
quality art prints
Individually numbered certificate of authenticity
Only 20,000 produced WORLDWIDE!!!

So people
How much is this worth? Probably the only one in the world left UNOPENED.
Would love you comments and offers :)

When I first saw that it was VHS I was going to say near on worthless but as it's in a box and unopened I would have no idea! Really sorry but i've never seen one for sale and would have no idea of its value!

I can only imagine your only hope would be ebay but if you want either list it with a high starting price that you think it would be worth or at least set a reserve

All the best

I remember a mate buying the same set. Trouble is now, it's a dead format. Nice set though.

Run a completed listings search on Ebay and see if any turn up. (Found one (not sealed) sold for £25).

I don't think you are sitting on a goldmine.

I have one too. Unfortunately they are now worth far less then the £80 we paid. I too thought it would be valuable in the future but since the format is dead i think the market has disappeared. £20-30 is the going rate which breaks my heart.
