I know these are rare but I didn't realise quite how rare -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-STAR-WARS-TRI-LOGO-JAWA-RESEALED-MOC-/230911041832?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=pCTWDF10egFpIOQPvyowAywqb2A%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

The last VC Jawa bubble on a 12 back Palitoy I noticed on ebay a couple of years ago went for about 220 pounds and that was without the Jawa but this seems to be even rarer than that.

Well done though if anyone from here picked it up.

Watched it as well, it's a lot of money for a rather bad looking restoration. In fact it is pretty crude in places but it is what it is, personally I don't think it was worth that amount but someone has chosen the easier and cheaper option of a reseal over a factory seal (which would easily run into a couple of thousand depending on condition) so hopefully they are happy with winning it!

Yeah I did wonder about the way it had been resealed, it did almost look like the bubble area had been replaced as it didn't seem to quite match the car back. I don't really know enough about this, or any Tri Logo's for that matter to really comment on it. As you said though I also hope the buyer is happy with it.

Out of interest did you see those Mego, Palitoy and Kenner catalogs that sold on Ebay yesterday? they were very nice and the Swiss seller did really well out of them although I've never seen most of them.

Incase you're interested -

I don't have the Kenner ones saved but the 1985 one had 22 pages of Star Wars including some great Droids and Power of the Force pictures. I think it went for about 180 pounds, nice!

That's an astonishing price for a resealed tri logo Jawa! I can remember getting into a mini spat over a used card back, offering £30 or £50 for it (which I thought was a pretty fair price at the time) for it to later sell on ebay for c£100

(My memory isn't great... I am sure some of you guys remember this episode and may have a better memory of exactly what the card back sold for?)

I do wonder what a sealed C8 example would sell for in a 99p no reserve auction...... :?

eBAY, gotta love it or hate it...

At the end of the day if someone wants a item and they are willing to pay silly money, just don't bid against them :(

The catalogue prices seem pretty fair, as for the resealed jawa :(

I've seen quite a few resealed items go over the 100 mark and even got caught up in that myself so I feel if it's what you're after then it's all good. That said though I think the highest I've seen one go for was about 260 for a 30 back Palitoy Boba Fett which as I remember it wasn't in the best condition. The price that Jawa went for though is pretty steep and makes me wonder how many are out there in any condition?

It is crazy that these reseals can hit such a high price from time to time but I guess if they don't come up much and the moc's are 8-10 times more expensive then that's reason enough. Some of us aren't too picky about the condition and others are all about collecting the perfect set. It's each to their own (as I've said before), and as long as there's enough to go around to satisfy our individual needs then keep them coming!

Its a tough one to find, but with luck, perseverance and cash in your pocket it's achievable!!!
Since buying mine a couple of years ago, I've seen two sealed examples (AFA85 on eBay and one in a mahooosive Tri Logo Job lot) and 3-4 used card backs. In my limited experience it's certainly up there with Madine in terms of numbers and of course, being Jawa, is infinitely cooler 8)

Certain pieces whether it be a reseal as in this case or simply an original cardback with figure (no bubble) as in this recent auction (now ended) Trilogo Boba Fett figure and Trilogo cardback, will always attract a high-ish price due to rarity and demand often regardless of condition.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAR-WARS-Boba-Fett-inkl-Tri-Logo-Backcard-/330823149067?pt=Science_Fiction&hash=item4d0698a60b&nma=true&si=GvNdTqklZo5t5GT5%252BJvAUvH5rlQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Another recent example was a Harbert 20 back Greedo on RS bottom half of bubble was detached, no footer and bubble stapled back to cardback, but it still sold no problem - seller was asking $650.00 USD.
