ive only seen

bidder 1
bidder 2
bidder 3

etc before but they seemed to have changed a lot

i clicked on one of those names and went to thier profile and the stars were still in place

They do a similar things when people make offers so the seller cannot contact them privately but that's the first time I have seen that on an open auction. Maybe it's a US thing? :?

Bidders names go anonymnous when the price gets over Ã'£100.

It's meant to prevent scammers targetting the 2nd highest bidder on the auction, but does as much to obscure shill bidding too.

It might be a new thing to replace Bidder 1 etc as at least seeing some letters might stop people worrying about shill bidding. :?
