Evening all. Never been on a forum like this before and I'm not really a very experienced collector per se, so please be gentle!

Could some of you possibly give me some tips to where is a good place to purchase star wars figures and vehicles? I am interested in all things from the original 1977 all the way up to today 2015.

Currently I have a humongous amount of differing aged figures and vehicles, some boxed, some un boxed, all over the place from years and years of buying. Absolutely no idea of value but I just want to bolster my collection.

I'd appreciate any feedback really, as I'm stuck buying the really new stuff from amazon and the older stuff from ebay!

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to SWFUK.

A great resource here are the For Sale threads:

For vintage:

For modern:

Prices are generally sensible and almost always cheaper than eBay.

Another good source is Facebook. There are loads of vintage SW groups which are used for little else than sales and people showing off their latest purchases. Prices vary wildly from bargain to eye-watering rip off. And unless you cover yourself with PP buyer protection there is little in the way of feedback for users. There are some dodgy characters about, as with everywhere, so keep your wits about you.

Stick up a quick bio in the Who's Who thread: You'll find folk much friendlier and willing to help out by taking the time to do so:

Good luck with your collecting

Welcome along.

I think in terms of buying vintage figures this site is as good a resource as any out there, plus there are a better class of seller here than you might find on eBay.

For modern stuff, if you buy in bulk entertainmentearth are good and the price is fair, but you buy by the case mostly.

One tip is to focus on a particular area the most obvious being a run of loose vintage vintage. If possible pick up the weapons. But beware - it's a minefield of reproduction stuff out there. Figures are still fairly safe but weapons can be a nightmare even to experienced collectors. Repro by the way is very much frowned upon, especially on this forum.

A safe and relatively inexpensive focus would be boxed mini-rigs. Personally I would do something like that these days.
