Hi
Thank you for allowing me to join the forum.
My hubby scratch built a Millennium Falcon and now wants to sell it so that he can start a new project.
The Falcon is 6ft x 4ft with lighting. He isn't sure what it is worth so needs a valuation but not sure where to post on this forum.
TIA

Hi and welcome,
Just wanted to say that is a thing of beauty.
No idea on value, I'm afraid.
If its truly a scratch-built one-off, then its got to be worth a few hundred quid at least. Hasn't it????

I think the wife would have a complete spasm if I stumbled through the door with that! :D

Thanks for replying.
It truly is scratch built!
It needs a new home but he wants it to go to a serious collector who wants a complete one off.
He exhibited the MF at Ultra Con this weekend but he made the mistake of not having a plaque explaining it's origin or that he was the builder.
If anyone went to Ultra Con it was displayed next to the Cruiser so if you were in the queue you would have gone past it.

Wow....know that's superb 8) ....your husband must be very skilled ..I tip my hat to that 8) ....

Price wise it's a hard one....you'll not get the hours back financially he put into it which is a shame and with the size of it it could be a problem to sell....

I'm a joiner by trade so i'm gonna stick my neck out and say if I built it and wanted to sell it,I wouldn't go lower than £500....like I say that's my opinion others may differ

Russ...

That's a shame...don't think he will part with it for that as it is worth more than that to him.....

You can buy model kits for more than £500 that are mass produced....this is a complete one off... :(

Realistically it is nigh on impossible to give this a fair valuation - your husband has obviously put hours into it and has done a great job

The 500 was a lowest rather than a valuation - and really this would be much better off at auction with the hope that a couple of people fall in love with it and can see a use for it in their collections

That's possibly an idea. Contact Vectis auctions and see what they say. It'll go for market value then. You can put a reserve in too.

Thanks for your advice.....auction sounds good :)
I know he wants it to go for a fair price and to someone who will treasure it as part of their collection
I hate to think of it going back in the shed
