Got a nice cheap ATAT a few weeks ago but when I opened up the battery compartment there was a couple of old batteries in there. After pulling the batteries out I could see straight away the contacts were all green and furred.

So is that it for this toy? Will he ever be able to fire his cool chin guns ever again?? :(

No doubt you should be able to bring this At At back to life, Gently clean the contact points, I used a small flat blade screwdriver and some fine sanding paper to clean the points, sprayed some good quality electrical contact cleaning spray on the connections to clean any remaining deposits away.
New quality batteries like Duracell etc and fingers crossed.

If my memory serves me correctly a bit of baking soda works well on rust and battery residue without harming the plastic.
