Rarest MOC by character

In light of teh recent sale of the Palitoy FX-7 I thought it would be fun to gauge what other members regard as the rarest/most desirable MOC by character. I reckon it's cool to see that some of the least desirable figures are sometimes some of the most sought after on certain MOC's.

All the carded VC Jawas are tough except the Kenner VCJ. I think there is also a Canadian 12 Back VCJ. :?

Palitoy 30bs for the first 20 figures are as rare as rocking horse **** with the exception of ben, han and luke x wing.

No offence but that is a very traditional list full of the 'desirable' rare figures.

Not saying they aren't rare but Joe's post on RS highlighted how many figures exist in only ones or twos on certain card backs.

Is there any card back that doesn't have at least 5 known VCJs? I suppose with the popular figs more people are looking and keeping count - no doubt we will see a few more FX7s now like we did with the Pal VCJ

Because of the size of the original production runs any US production figure isn't really rare, just very desirable - Zuckuss and 4LOM fall into that category - if there are 20 each of them that is a lot a more than some of the European examples. I'm no expert on these so feel free to tell me only one of each is known

I can only really speak for Han Hoth and there have to only be a handful of Palitoy 45a and b cardbacks - less than 5? The 45b is a good test, no logo so less desirable and presumably not locked up in collections. So the two currently known is a fair estimate

The other rare Han Hoths are POCH, Meccano and the ESB Candians - but as these are so sought after there could be quite a few but they are all locked up in collections.

Gary will have the best idea on Palitoys but I think Leia Bespin on 45b is super rare if not yet confirmed

Leia Bespin was finally confirmed in 2012, thanks to Lee Gregory.

And it was a MOC that was found!

Know of only 1 confirmed Palitoy 45b Leia Bes! Lee Gregory found it and it is in good hands now :wink:

I was told there were only around 3 confirmed 48 back offerless 4LOMs but not my area so feel free to set me straight :roll:

Def a few pieces on the list because of popularity rather than super rarity

Only 1 zuckuss with the 4 lom offer on the card has ever surfaced.

I can only tell you what I know that I have been looking for for years in within the complete list, and some of them are only 1 known and others like the toltoys nien numb is not as rare as 1 guy owns 3 of the 5 I know about and that was after talking with a Broker that has been in the business for over 20 years.

I stand corrected - always assumed 4-Lom and Zickuss were overhyped as they were Kenner

I suppose this is all pretty subjective ,I know quite a few people that don't go on the forums that have some fantastic collections and some very rare items,I suppose rarity and desire ability are two different things but does have an impact on what becomes available to buy.high end doesn't always mean rare.
