Just brining this one back with another example. This was from Ford Car Boot sale this morning for £2 (anyone got a spare set of seats?).

It's got the Patent Pending stamp, serial number under Bonney and the ink stamp. I think the theory the ink stamp is UK Kenner stock is a good one. I think these were just an early run of the Landspeeder and this theory is supported by the fact the Pat. Pending text is there and that Palitoy later made the sealed bonnet type so I guess these were the first ones to the UK. The ink stamp must be Palitoy's doing because I haven't seen one found in the US but they're found in numbers here.

Just reading through the thread....Some interesting stuff. Had this arrive in today from a US collection.
Kenner logo only box....No LP logo, which indicates it's an early release box,

Landspeeder has Pat. Pending stamp on the bottom,

Also has the serial number and ink stamp under the bonnet...It appears to be '292B-9'

It seems that the ink stamp can be found in the US also?

That is interesting, Jeff. First one I've seen confirmed as being found in the US. Did you buy it from the original owner, do you know? Will have to keep an eye out for other non-LP release boxes and see what they come with. Really need a few from some childhood collections to see what the deal is.

Not 100% certain if it was original owner, but it would seem unlikely that someone in the US would have a Kenner boxed one from the UK?

Interestingly, here's a loose example I have on the way from the USA also. Bought it before the boxed one arrived today....

Don't know yet what's under the bonnet. Be interesting to see the markings if any?

I'm currently working on sourcing a Kenner US, Lower text, boxed example. (LP logo on one side only)

It would be unusual but not highly unusual. When I was 7. one of my two best SW collecting friends, Randall, was an American. When he and his family moved back to the US they sold off his SW toys, most of which he'd brought across with him from the US, so my other (British) SW mate got his Blue Snag for 20p. If Randall had taken his stuff back with him instead of flogging it off there'd be a small stash of Palitoy stuff residing in a loft in Aspen, Colorado, at the moment

Quick update....
So I managed to snag a Kenner US Lower text, LP logo on one side. Came from a collection in Germany. Vehicle has Pat. Pending stamp and ink stamp under the bonnet. Can't fully make out the ink stamp...

Here's the three "Pat.Pending" stamps. It appears that the letters 'E' and 'D' in the word pending are always way off...does anyone know was this stamp hand or machine applied?

Hi I'm mike from uk and I've just emptied my dads loft of my old toys and found a pat. Pending landspeeder is it worth much?

I only have one currently and it's in my display - has stamped serial under bonnet and markings on bottom as in pics.

Pretty sure I have a trashed chassis somewhere with the pat pending in bottom.
