Well, for me, three responses, non of which are supportive, one that says " chill out, people don't seem to be as bothered as you" !

Let's not forget, it's not whether or not you collect baggies, or have been bitten by this, it's about the deceit, dishonesty, and damage to the hobby caused.

Frank, I've said it before and I will say it again, THANKYOU for what you have done for the hobby.

Now I'm not attritional in character, or someone that spoils for an argument, and try to be decent in all I do. Some people may not like me, that's their choice. But I detest dishonesty, and devious manipulation, and the hobby I love is a little oasis for me, and anyone that does anything to protect and defend it, is applauded by me for one, again THANKYOU. Frank.
Reading back my comment may sound a bit off which it was not meant to do, I know people are passionate about this hobby, as I am, what I was trying to get across is that people are still buying from Jeff, Jeff is still doing fairs and events and people are still visiting his stall etc, Frank has brought this into the open, I for one was sceptical for which I apologise but this can become all consuming and frustrating, the facts have been shown to the whole community and now its upto them what they do with those facts and for Frank to try and stop stressing

I don't get how he thinks he is innocent, even if he didn't know they were fake, he still sold fake goods so pretty sure the law will not go easy on someone for this.

I think everything that can be said has been said at this point, I will say that saying frank appears to be or is bitter is a really low blow :| I appreciate that baggies are not for everyone but i think you need to bare in mind that it's something franks very passionate about....

Since this is Jeffs response thread would be good to have an update from the man him self on what ukgs finding are at this point, if he will still be destroying the baggies like he said he would and if he has had much luck in tracing where the moody baggies originated from????

I sent Frank a PM the other day asking him why he's not posting anymore. He is really pist off with the way he has been treated over this and I don't blame him at all. He uncovered a huge fraud in the hobby and has been treated badly for it.

I think it's a real shame and some collectors are still out of pocket by thousands. Just thought I would mention it as it seems a lot of heads are buried in sand.

That is sad to hear.
He did get a bit of grief and people seemed to focus more on how he announced the thing rather than the fact there had been a fraud.
I hope he comes back, and that those who were slagging him then can do the decent thing and apologise, even if it by PM.

I had been thinking about this myself a few times why he doesn't post anymore. I do hope he does come back on the forum again.
Clearly he was really passionate about the hobby and was only trying to bring into the open what he could see was happening regarding fakes and to make us all aware.
Hopefully he got refunded fully himself and everyone else after Jeff said to return them.

I've chatted to Frank a couple of times recently and he is definitely upset by people's reaction to him, particularly some of the pms he was sent.
I'd love him to come back but I can't see it happening anytime soon.

Frank hasn't left the forum in all fairness as far as I know.
He has a lot going on in his personal life.
That said I'm sure the forum isn't his first port of call at the moment with the Photobucket issue to add insult to injury.
He had offered to vet all of Jeff's remaining baggies with a few stipulations that Jeff declined so as far as Frank is now concerned he is putting this whole affair behind him and wants to move on.

I don't blame the guy either tbh, he's already put in a huge amount of his time & effort into this matter, he doesn't need to do any more.

Plus there's much bigger and more important things in personal life to be paying attention to sometimes, instead of stressing themselves out more than they need to over a toy scandal.

The whole Jeff fake baggies scandal thing isn't over and there is a lot more to come! Frank hasn't posted in here for a while due to many things including his iminent house move, facebook stuff and as already said the whole photbucket thing. There are still quite a lot of people owed a lot of money by Mr Glanville and we are talking £1000's not just a couple of quid here and there!

As has been said, Frank went above and beyond on the whole Baggie thing and was from some quarters treated very unfairly and I felt that was completely out of order.

Frank is one of the most honest, genuine and decent people I have had the pleasure to "meet" on this forum and underpinned the reason I was a member on here.
I hope that Frank does come back to the boards, but fully understand his frustration and some of the posts he received after his uncovering of the whole baggie thing, that was damaging to the hobby he is passionate about, were downright wrong.

I wish all the best to Frank and all of those who have been financially affected by the person in question, and that you all get refunds.

I will once more, applaud Frank for what he did for the Hobby here and was prepared to do good of us all to put himself out there, and suffered for that!

Thank you again Frank :D

I'll second that, well said Mike.
You have summed up everything I was thinking.
I'm not a baggie collector, but Frank exposed a scandal that affected the whole hobbie.
And for that I thank him.

I did briefly speak to Jeff at Farthest From a few months back and said I would happily amend (and delete where appropriate) the incriminating threads once it's all sorted out. That offer still stands. The last I heard was that the remaining baggies are being sent to CAS for grading.

So the remaining baggies are being sent to the company with the least grading experience as opposed to the one in this country that has staff trained by the best in the business at how to spot fakes? That is concerning in itself.

That's a fair point, but one of CAS's owners is, along with Frank, one of the authorities on baggies:

*(I won't comment on his book publishing skills  )

I didn't know that and I've used that article dozens of times

You might have to explain the book writing bit though??

I'd be a bit concerned about genuine baggies being written off. There is a tendency for state side speacialists to instantly rule out any UK curiosities. These guys are right more often than not, but the Palitoy VC Jawa and Woollies 8 packs have been incorrectly questioned in the past.
