That's another bit. Snoke said he connected Kylo and Rey, yet they were still connected after he was dead (as was Luke so it's not like he was doing it). Did they magically connect cos they love each other so? Did the Force do it just for shits and giggles?

Leia can float in space. **** off. That scene on its own ruined the film for me.

YEP!!!

I was ready to walk out at that point.

The worst scene in any Star Wars Movie by Far.

Whoever came up with it should be fired on the Spot.

Leia is now Mary Poppins

WTF!!

Kathleen Kennedy needs to resign as head of Lucas Film,

as this film was an embarrassment.

I also seem to be the only one who doesn't like Kylo Ren, the character or the actor. Some people on here have said they tought he was great. I just find the character and the actor annoying, i don't think either are good.

Agree with a lot of what you guys have said about it, good story, nice twists (loved the fact Rey isn't a Skywalker) and good action.

The worst scene is the Leia in space and Akbar's underwhelming death. Akbar should have been the one to sacrifice himself to save the fleet and scrap the purple haired lady. He could have even said it's a trap!

The beginning of the film was awful but it did save itself later on.

Code breaker storyline was pointless and cutting it to make a 2 hr film would have been good.

I also thought the acting was really bad in places - Hayden C bad! And the jokes were a real distraction and often not funny.

Perhaps I thought worse of it as I really enjoyed TFA first, a tight film and a lack of hammyness.

Saying that Rey and Kilo were great and Yoda may look better when I watch it in 2D. The Yoda scene was good despite the odd looking puppet. The issue is HD is too good for puppets and CGI is poor - Yoda can't win :)

Porgs were meh, other creatures were a bit Star Wars Rebels or too CGI for me.

7/10 and off for a second view

Just got back from watching it and can't believe what they have done to Luke! Unbelievable! What was the point of bringing him back to kill him off?!

There is no emotional attachment to these new characters to make me want to watch the last one.

These films are supposed to be a saga about the Skywalkers and if the last one is now about Kylo Ren it will be a weak end to the saga.

So many pointless bits and bits left hanging / questions unanswered.

I thought the prequels were bad but Disney are killing this! Bring back Lucas...it's that bloody bad!!

A day at work to digest things.
Went with two mates last night and we ripped it apart on the drive home.

My basic idea of the Last Jedi was Rey would convince Luke to help out, he'd train her, take on amd beat Kylo Ren himself who'd become a lot more powerful, but would lose to Snoke, thus setting up the third installment of Rey being the Last Jedi taking on Snoke.
It would be quite dark and sinister.
Poe and Chewie would be involved in the space battles and Chewie would be seen a lot in battle on the ground.
Leia would provide the emotional bits and have a sit down with Luke.
Finn would fill in with all the **** bits ( I actually got that bit right).

Overall, I was well off the mark. And that's my problem that my opinion is subjective based on what I thought/hoped might happen.

Good:
Great to see Luke back.
Adam Driver is good as Kylo Ren.
Leia.
Snoke.
Yoda.
The island and the dark side.
An alternative use of the Force.

Bad:
Laura Dern.
Here's the problem: everything good that I liked I find something in it that irks me.
Luke back but incredibly sulky, almost child-like sulky at times.
Kylo Ren needs to man the **** up and unleash his full potential.
Laura Dern.
The scene with Leia floating is, like said above, Mary Poppins.
Snoke: A shock death, a great twist but what a crime because he seemed like such a good character.
The casino part.
Lack of costumed creatures.
Poe's banter. I try to like Poe, but struggle.
Laura Dern.
Finn's scenes. Actually his suicide flight was his saving grace, shame.
The space "chase".
Laura Dern.
Captain Phasma.
And Laura Dern.

What bugged me was we get to see the continued scene of Rey handing Luke the sabre only to see him take it and toss it over his shoulder.
Two years we wait in suspense for that!

Maybe it's not a bad film, its all subjective, but I'm probably expecting too much connection to the original trilogy.
I realise all that's left is Chewie, R2, and 3po now.

I accept that Star Wars is finally moving away from what I know and love.
There a new Star Wars in town and it's time to put Poe on hold.

Definitely.
He should've said "lady, your purple rinse is a ****in' trap", headbutted her then took over the suicide mission.
A blaze of glory fitting for a legend.

Another thing I will add..... I think that C3-PO has been criminally underused in both films,More so in TLJ.

It's actually damaging to watch these new Star Wars films as they are now starting to affect the way you watch and see the originals movies.

I will only watch the original movies and maybe rouge one from now on.

I'm done!!

This is a film you need to see twice.
I didn't enjoy the first viewing a much as I thought I would... but after a second viewing, I left very pleased. You do pick up on a lot more in the second viewing. Although I had to close my eyes for the Leia flouting in space. Once past that, I sat back and enjoyed it.

I dunno, I struggle to differentiate between C3P0 the character and Anthony Daniels the self loving ****. Thus I'm not a big fan of 3P0.

Steady on now! There's no need for language like that! By all means call anyone on here anything you want, tell them you wanna mug their granny, U-grade all you like, but NOTHING NOTHING is worse than a prequel!

I've banned people for less than what I'm letting you away with here.

Not at all mate, its only damaging if you want it to be. Nothing will ever damage them to me. Its like this to me:

OT - I was there at the start - I grew up with the toys - it hold some of my greatest childhood memories.

Nothing can take that away from me and it something ill have until the day I move on.

Is Rouge One the new make up line???

Well said Weasel. Possibly the most arrogant, ignorant prick I have ever met from Star Wars. He is a horrible, vile little man . He is a camped up, gold suited butler that's about it.

Kenny Baker was 100 times the man he is, may he RIP.

Yeah his attitude to Kenny Baker was disgusting. He thought of himself as the star and Kenny as tagging along on his coat tails.
The fact he charges to do the voice and just generally seems to love himself don't help his cause either.

It's hard to disagree with anything you've said weasel!
I should have been clearer as I'm not a huge 3PO fan.
I was trying to say that I hated the way that the OT characters (ok not Luke) were being marginalised. And seemed to only be in the two films to please old farts like me.Even chewie was underused.I really thought they should have handled these characters with more care, because of the original connection.Like Luke's first meeting with Leia after all those years ' I know I've changed my hair' For god's sake give me a break!! Even Luke winking,at one of the droids,I can't even remember which one by this stage...
If these characters are in bloody use them more,Edwards certainly knew Vader would be the draw in R1 & it was done superbly imo.

I guess it's a balancing act between trying to bring in new characters so the films can move on (Luke, Leia and all continuing to run round blow things up would be a bit unrealistic) and keeping the old characters in it.
Partly to keep us old fans happy but also because they would probably still have parts to play. Although surely, given the average survival rate of a rebel seems to be about 3 days and they have spent what 30 years fighting the Empire and First Order, one or two of them may well have been killed or got fecked off and gone off to do something a tad less dangerous.

Saw it last night, and the more I process it, the better I think it is.
Mark's acting was great in it, his role was amazing, and I am so glad to see that Carrie's last on screen role was bigger and better than what she was given in TFA.
I'm going to see it twice again today.
I'll try to write a longer review/explanation a t a later time.
