I forgot how the outing rule was worded here. I remember clearly the thread that started the rule discussion not the result. Here was the vote: http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25940&hilit=reason
Hi James, thanks for the link. Having only joined in 2017 it was very interesting to read the discussions resulting in the rules currently in place for the eBay listings section. Very passionate on both sides of the argument.
I would need more time to digest all of what has been said there but currently I believe that while not full proof the present ruling in its current form is the most logical. While I have not been knowingly backdoored I agree that it would be at best annoying and at worst devestating and so a 7 day armistice is good. On the other hand, IMO banning commenting on current eBay listings is not beneficial, as long as those posting, exercise common sense. But this has all been debated and not worth revisiting (here at least).
Referring to this specific case on the other hand, the case of the "Light green chest Boba Fett" I don't believe any rules have been broken, and IMO subzero has only posted a link to a live auction to gain more knowledge, because like me, he does not have the wealth of knowledge other collectors do. He does however have an interest in Boba Fetts, having seen plenty in his collection, and if someone could confirm that it was a rare variant, he would have the opportunity of bidding on it, if so desired. Solance4ever's auctions are not the type to go under the radar, nor the type to be mis-listed so I can't see that anybody would really object to its posting. And as previously stated I don't believe we ever insinuated he was dodgy. However, I would be interested if you feel otherwise.
However, the good thing about this discussion, for me anyway, is that you have drawn my attention to the rules in place on eBay listings, why they are there and both sides of the argument. I have posted in this section previously without real understanding of said rules and will think carefully in the future. I'll give you an example:

I posted tongue-in-cheek about a short shot blaster, never having heard of one and in a similar listing posted at the same time by snaketibe you pointed out that they did exist. In future I will exercise more caution over my posting, but I still believe in the right to post that if handled considerately, as I would never have found out about it.
Cheers
Jay
