Han Trench Coat

This has to be one of my favourite Kenner runs of recent. It's only small and not particularly hard. But if you want to pick them up in great condition without paying lockdown prices then it requires a bit of patience and knowledge.

Only two Kenner factories produced him. Smile and Kader. Plain lapel and Camo lapel were found on both factories. The hardest to find IMO is the Smile Camo lapel, closely followed by the Kader Plain lapel.

If you know your factories you'll know that Smile didn't produce a solid black blaster so the myth that Han Trench Coat always came with a solid black blaster has been well and truly debunked.

The first notable difference is the eyebrows. The Smile figure has flat eyebrows whereas the Kader figure has arched eyebrows.

The ruffle of the shirt is different being both wider and more angular on the Smile figure.

Moving down the body the most obvious identifier is the raised bump on the pocket on the Smile figure.

The belt buckle looks like an 'L' shape on the Smile figure.

Finally the hand including thumb and particularly fingers is fatter on the Kader figure.

On the reverse you can see that the coo is further round the leg on the Kader figure.

That was terrific Jay! A small run, yes, but still very interesting. Also, your examples are beautiful, so congratulations :)

Thanks for sharing another great focus.
