Thank you for allowing me to join the forum! I really would like some help as my mission is somewhat daunting!
I am researching two chairs that have come directly from the private storage of a UK based Film Producer. My employers have basically cleared a small container load of props / film reels / tapes from all of his productions and a large quantity of all kinds of Film production items most linked to him directly but some that aren't. Everything we have so far has been easy to associate with scenes and placement - except these two chairs!
It is my job to research as much as I can based on the information I have been given.
So when these chairs were collected we were told quite directly to handle with care and look after them as they have come from a Star Wars film set. As can be seen in the photos they are not in the best condition but they are what they are.
They are 100% from a props dept. Tub style chairs with a tribal / ethnic style fabric and some planet shaped spherical feet in a hard resin that has also been used around the arms.
My son and daughter - both mega Star Wars fans have suggested either Tatooine or Naboo? This would align date wise with all of the other items from storage as everything appears to be early 2000's up to 2014.
So yes it is a long shot and a big ask to try and find any scene placement. If any of you are able to advise or assist in any way it would be so gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks!

Hello, I am not convinced these are from any Star Wars production. The style is wrong, for Tatooine, Naboo or any other Star Wars location I've seen. Your best bet is to research all the productions/movies said producer was involved with. Watch them and see if you see the chairs. It shouldn't be that hard. I would be looking at things set in Africa. Victorian sort of British Empire, fantasy Jumanji type stuff.

Hi so, i've been in touch a guy called Matt Cotter who's worked on detailed sculptures, props and scenery for Star Wars Episodes II and III.

All round Nice guy.....unfortunately they don't look familiar to him, but he did state that though that's not to say they weren't there (on Episodes II & III). There were definitely not in Palpatine's office, & pretty sure not in Padme's apartment, 2 sets where he spent a lot of time.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Having just rewatched each of the three prequel films with your post in mind, these items can't be placed in any scenes which made the final theatrical cuts. Sorry that doesn't help assist with your task at all, but hope at least that helps narrow down your search.
Thank you so much! I will enlist my sons help and knowing we can rule out the prequel films will hopefully make searching further a bit easier if they are to be found anywhere.

Honestly that is amazing that you have been able to contact somebody who worked on set. They came from Film director / producer Lawrence Elman who as far as I can ascertain had no connection with any of the Star Wars movies but amongst his own props etc that we have there are quite a lot of bits from films that he wasn't involved in so he has had a collection of film memorabilia and quite a lot of original items. Thank you so much for your help, it is greatly appreciated!

Hi, thank you for replying. Yes I know it probably was a long shot and just following up the lead we had, rather hoping they were from Star Wars as that would have been incredible! They have come from the private stores of Lawrence Elman film director/producer so we have an awful lot from his own productions including Romeo & Juliet, Pablos Hippos, The Skeleton Key and even a Rolling Stones documentary. I will certainly keep searching but it is so time consuming ! Once again thank you for your reply.
