Ive been thinking about doing a repaint job on some vintage vehicles to see if i can make something look more realistic, and similar to replica props etc. Ive recently repainting toy blasters and also made a medal of Yavin for £12 all in,which includes the screen accurate WW2 army tie:) The Jawa blaster was a scratch build, and im currently buidling the Jawa to hold it. Im doing this as i no longer spend hundreds on official replicas, and have currently turned £50 worth of toy blasters into great looking display props (stormtrooper, fett, rebel blaster and Han solo x 2)

Ill post updates as i go along, and first on the list will be a Snowspeeder. If anyone has any ships cheap, please let me know

Looking forward to seeing the results...

Snow speeder is good for an accurate repaint as it is close to scale than most of the other vehicles.

Sounds quite difficult to do. Post up some photos of your work :)

Work on some mini rigs might be interesting. Maybe something like the ESB laser canon

The action figure Snowspeeder is a good choice for this kind of modelling as it has the size and proportions to resemble a prop. It's been done before to a high standard by modellers.

The A-Wing and Twin Pod Cloud Car could serve the same purpose too.

I bought the modern action figure T.I.E Bomber and the most recent large winged T.I.E Fighter in order to transform them into decent looking models but they are languishing in the cupboard. One day…

Hey guys,

Well after buying a Snowspeeder from Weasel, which i recieved yesterday im happy to show the first photos of the toy into prop progression. Its been done with spray cans, and ill soon be getting an airbrush and compressor. Might be a little too dark for some, but i like it. Got to get some graphic details for the oustside, and then im going to go to town on detailing the cockpit :)

Enjoy :D

The weathering is superb mate, well done! It looks very metallic grey though, is that how the prop was?

I'd love to see the blasters and medal.
