Ok Guys so as u know I have recently put up the 1st and(all but one) 2nd series Palitoy 30 backs which (apart from 3 B cards in the first set) r all debut MOCs. So as I mentioned I would do, here r the remaining debuts MOCs of the Empire series with one poss exception :?:

The Zuckuss is a Palitoy Dutch import and one of two ways to get him Palitoy, the other being a Palitoy US import-which has a Kenner logo on the front.

The debut MOC in question is Dengar :!: As some of u know he has been rumoured to exist on a Palitoy 41 back but a few key guys I have spoken to and indeed myself have never even seen just the card back of a 41 example :!: BUT mentioning no names one major collector in our community claims to have one MOC but for some strange reason refuses to show it :?: If u do have it mate, myself and others would really appreciate seeing it :!: Also I believe "Mr Palitoy" has it down as existing in his matrix but with all due respect I am not sure that is undeniable proof it actually exists. Jason if u can enlighten me that would b great.

In theory Dengar should really exist on a 30 back as he was one of the figures shown on the reverse of a 41 back card and all other Empire figures shown on that card back do indeed exist on 30 back. Again no one has ever seen Dengar on a 30 back and because the 41 back has not been seen it's a sure bet there is no 30 back.

Beauties Jon and in really nice condition. I am very jealous of your Dengar and 3PO limbs! And for the record, without any evidence to the contrary let's just say that Dengar is a debut figure on a 45A.

Just looking at your Luke Hoth. My MOC Luke Hoth's right hand leg is turning ever so slightly brown, is this happening with yours too? (left leg as we look at him)

Thanks Andy appreciate the comments pal. Yes unfortunately my Luke has a hint of red brown on that side :!: it seems to b a trait with them a bit like the light fade legs on a 30 back Han Bespin.

Thanks mate.

Well the 45a's have a v strong unpunch if that makes sense so I guess there is perhaps more chance of finding that type unpunched than say a 12 back which doesn't have such a secure unpunch. I didn't actually hunt for unpunched they just came that way which naturally I am v happy about :D

Dengar 41 back's inclusion on the matrix is based on word of mouth testimony. I have yet to see one or a picture of one.

cheers Jason

The Tie Fighter Pilot was the first Star Wars figure I owned, which I got Christmas 1981 on a 45a cardback (Still have the card). It is without doubt my favourite card back as the Bounty Hunter Offer disc seems to look so nice with it. Luke Hoth is a close second.

Absolute beauties. I so want that CCP. The colours of the Palitoy logo just go so well with all that orange.

Another fantastic set of figures in stunning condition as ever. Love seeing these kinds of runs put together and you must always have a big smile on your face every time you see them Jon.

Thanks for the comments guys, as always I really appreciate them.

Yeh these debut runs r seriously cool to complete and yes some of these runs do have some v rare and sought after MOCs in them but I think they r perhaps more possible and certainly overall smaller to complete than many other runs some top collectors r tying to do i.e. the same figure on all known cards etc.

Andy that's a great memory regarding the 45a TFP and awesome u still have ur actual childhood card back 8)

Gorgeous figures.
Your BBG has about as much gold left on him as my carded example, always amazes me the wear that can occur while still on card.
In relation to Dengar, so far as my recollection goes was his debut not as a mail away?
Could this be the reason that he is on later card backs without being on a 30?

Cheers

Thanks pal, yeh I think it's more of a case of poor painting not wear on the BBGs on this card back. It's the same with the WBG on the 30 back :!:

Yeh Dengar was an initial mail away release I believe which could well b the reason for his absence on a 30 but he was early enough to b standard pic on the back of a 41. I guess it was v close.
