Re: Rotting /mouldy scout walker

I’ve tried vinegar, baking soda, fairy liquid. It damn stinks.

But yes maybe I will try to flog. Will be very honest about the state though.

Anyone know what the offending infection is - mould? Very strange.

Re: Rotting /mouldy scout walker

It really smells I’m afraid and the plastic is breaking down badly. If you run a nail over it it just scrapes away

Re: Rotting /mouldy scout walker

Yeah I took that view. I’m going to bin it. I’ve taken the top gun and the side guns and chest plate off as they are made of a much harder plastic and seem to be fine

Rotting /mouldy scout walker

Hey guys. Just a question I have picked up a vintage ATST but there is a type of what looks like fungal bloom and a very strong musty smell on the plastic. The plastic looks to be breaking down too. Has anyone has this - and Any ideas or fixes?

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Feel a little embarrassed to post this compare to some people’s acquisitions but I completed my tauntaun with saddle and reins. Just the saddle is my childhood one. The rest I’ve picked up off eBay waiting for a bargain.

Re: Displaying ships in a dynamic way

Ha! I had those spectrum Star Wars games. Forgot all about that. I had them in big cardboard boxes from memory.

Displaying ships in a dynamic way

I’ve looked through the “displaying loose in open space” thread but not found much inspiration for ships. I’d quite like to display my y wing and x wing on a clear acrylic stand, at an angle so it looks a little more dynamic and like it is flying. Has anyone done a similar thing? If so do you have r...

Re: How do people display there loose in open space?

Although such a shame that out of all the accessories I managed to keep as a child, I lost most of the last 17!

Funnily enough yes. It’s kick started my replacing things I gave away. I’m sure the psychology is something to do with yearning for happier times, but it’s been fun so far.

Re: Vintage y wing replacement canopy and afterburner struts.

I think that’s the plan. Maybe build it up over time but in the meantime I want it to look good.

To be honest I could probably just buy a complete one, but where’s the fun in that!?

Thanks

Re: Vintage y wing replacement canopy and afterburner struts.

It’s frustrating really as I kept all my stuff from the 80s till about 7 years ago when I gave half of it away and binned some rougher looking pieces. A y wing that had fallen to bits, a bright yellow 78 tie fighter, 2 yellowed x wings. I still have a lot but even looking back just salvaging those s...
