Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 61 LAUNCHED

Just making my way through the latest TVR podcast. Many happy returns on your 5 year anniversary. I’ve missed a couple of the latest editions as I’ve been going through some pretty heavy personal upheaval. In short my marriage has broken up and my Mother has passed away. It’s been a really crappy c...

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 61 LAUNCHED

About half way through, really enjoyed the history of the podcast at the beginning, was really interesting hearing all the stats. I had no idea about the "beef" with the Chivecast, I had to track down the episode to give it a listen! (here if anyone is interested to hear it.)

Re: Vintage Jabba Playset

It was definitely only supposed to come with one, but it's not unusual to find missing or extra accessories packed with toys. You even see MOCs with 2 or 3 blasters sometimes!

Wow that is crazy, no idea, I haven't been following them recently but having peaked at £1000 a few years ago I thought they had gone down a bit?

Re: Grading and shill bidding issues that have come up

I'm no expert in this area, but is it possible to pop the base off and substitute the same type of figure just a less valuable example and glue back on with little sign of tampering ???? as these grading's seem mad even given the exceptions for certain types of factory processes. I don't own any UK...

Re: Vectis 26th June

So did anybody win anything yesterday? Seems this one went under the radar as a lot of the prices were low, including two (albeit damaged) loose VCJs selling for under £400 each! Maybe prices are going back to where they should be?

Re: Grading and shill bidding issues that have come up

It seems strange that there has been no response from any of the grading companies as far as I’m aware. Even if they were to acknowledged the inconsistency of some items that have been graded and why some figures are graded less severely than others, surely this would help their case and ultimately...

Re: Original weapons?

Welcome to the forum. I think most people agree that generally repros started to appear in the 90s, but the only real way to know is to check them all individually. If you can post some photos people will be happy to help!

Re: Grading and shill bidding issues that have come up

I have also seen evidence that suggests grading companies (not just UKG) give higher grades to lower quality lines such as Lili Ledy, but giving that Rebel Soldier an 85 with half his face missing is utterly ridiculous.

Re: Grading and shill bidding issues that have come up

I haven't seen the discussions about grading, but there's always been a joke about Bryan's Toys getting preferential grades, and as Mark says I've seen some ridiculous discreprencies over the years (there's a thread on them somewhere.) I don't have a lot of sympathy for it as grading is clearly subj...
