Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
Big thanks to welshwookie for sending me some more tools in the post! I had another go this morning and 99% of it is now gone :) There is now a lift in the bottom right corner of the bubble and a little wear on the card where I was rubbing (in hindsight should have put some masking tape on it, whoop...

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
I think I've got that version of 8D8 so was going to see if you were interested in it so you could send the other one back for a refund without worrying about getting a replacement. But what you've done there looks great! I'm in no rush to move my stuff on though, so will leave it a while; if you w...

Re: Sad news regarding forum member Declan McCafferty AKA chipsteak
I received the below message and photo from Declan's brother Kieran: Edd, I thought this may be of interest to your members. It was chipsteaks funeral yesterday. And we buried him in a star wars coffin. Here is a screenshot from the service. Finished of his eulogy by saying the star wars box was in ...

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
Well attempt 1 has been pretty successful, before and after below :) I bought one of these from eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333735464167 There was a small gap at the bottom of the bubble where the seal was weak, so I popped it in there and with much manouevering and patience managed to get most...

Re: Latest Acquisitions
Nothing wrong with that, they taped the accessories in before attaching the bubbles so it's inevitble some were not perfect. I have a carded ROTG IG-88 with a piece of hair in the tape!

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
Sorry i did not see this topic any sooner, judging from your picture i'm too late to warn you that UVC light is the most effective light to damage the blister and cause it to yellow https://www.usplastic.com/knowledgebase/article.aspx?contentkey=858 I have been working with UVC light to battle mild...

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
Well it's made no visible difference. It might have killed it, no way of knowing really, so looks like plan B is needed.

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
Thanks for the offer, I was thinking that I might try a really thin pipe cleaner or something. Needs to be thin enough to get in the bubble, but also have some kind of brush or bristles to remove the mould.welshwookie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:04 pmIf you want some fine wires Edd, my wife has a few different guage ones in work ?

Re: Removing mould inside bubble?
The seller offered me a decent partial refund, so I accepted it and will have another go. I used some of the money to buy a UV-C lamp from Amazon, it was only £20 and after reading up on it apparently UV-C is the only light that kills mould, and there is only a tiny % of it in sunlight. For £20 it's...
