Re: Help with possible repro PBP Hoth Stormtrooper cape

The one on left is smooth on both sides. The one on right has texture on 1 side which I’ve never seen before.

I have since checked with a couple of the PBP experts on Facebook and the verdict was they are both good! :D

Re: Anyone else having a vintage drought?

Collecting has been very slow for me after having 6 months out of work. However I've noticed that eBay has really dried up and there is very little interesting stuff for sale. My usual saved sellers have had nothing for sale for months. Even the classifieds on the forums don't have much. Perhaps it'...

Help with possible repro PBP Hoth Stormtrooper cape

Hi folks, can I get your thoughts on these 2 PBP Hoth Stormtrooper capes. The cut is very very slightly different and whilst both have a glossier side as expected, the one of the right has a very matte almost textured side that I'm not familiar with. Please let me know if you think one of these migh...

Re: VAT added to eBay purchases from EU without notice

Re: Paploo Eye Colour

Interesting! I noticed that the lighter grey colour looks the same colour as the paint on the Lily Ledy Wicket eyes, nose and mouth.

VAT added to eBay purchases from EU without notice

Ok so I guess it’s no surprise that VAT is due on purchases from the EU now, however I was not expecting them to be taken on purchase without warning when buying something from EU on eBay. I was watching an item from France priced at €50. I received an offer for a 20% discount to €40. No mention of ...

Re: Is my AFA graded ESB Tie Fighter Pilot... a Toy Toni?!?

Yes agree with the above, and bubble placement is a big one too. Toni always centered his bubbles perfectly over the racetrack, factory sealed bubbles are almost never like that. For example here's my Star Destroyer Commander, look how far to the left it is compared to the TIE Pilot in the original...

Re: Is my AFA graded ESB Tie Fighter Pilot... a Toy Toni?!?

No, I don't think his iron had that setting :) :) that's what I was alluding too ! Even in those photos the seal looks melty/gluey and done in a really uneven way (and no waffle pattern!). Didn't this ring any alarm bells with graders at the time having all these amazing cards/bubbles with weird / ...

Re: Is my AFA graded ESB Tie Fighter Pilot... a Toy Toni?!?

Hello everyone I was looking through some of my old carded figures today and came across this Tie Fighter Pilot. I know a bit about the Toy Toni thing now, but I can't imagine I knew about it whenever I purchased this! Looking at it today, I've a feeling it must be a bit dodgy! :D Unfortunately I'v...

Re: Is my AFA graded ESB Tie Fighter Pilot... a Toy Toni?!?

Yes it is. The bubble is incorrect Hi Grant, when you say the bubble is incorrect, do you mean because there is no bubble number? Do you know what bubble number the TFP should be? I'll have to check. The bubble is to small- perhaps a Luke Hoth bubble- i cant remember. The proper bubble has more roo...
