Re: 41 discovered card Proofs

Not adding anything new but I agree that they look reproduction.

They don’t appear to have the lithographic dot grain and also fonts don’t look right.

Re: Vectis Sale 30th July now online

Well I didn’t own the Chewy for long myself as the tinted bubble bothered me. I’m not judging him for doing the same. Perhaps he’s just off loading spares and pieces he doesn’t care for in order to fund other purchases. I wonder if there’s a minimum number of pieces you can submit to Vectis for auct...

Re: Vectis Sale 30th July now online

Funny you should say that, there is a Palitoy ESB 45b Chewy with Finland price sticker (lot 4017) that I sold a few months ago. Exact same figure.

Re: Vectis 26th June

Seems like a lot of people missed this one. Perhaps not enough Star Wars to pique interest.

Some good prices on the VC and Toltoys Jawas though.

Re: Grading and shill bidding issues that have come up

As much as I dislike it shill bidding happens everywhere. Despite eBay saying it’s not allowed, they don’t really do anything about preventing it. And do people realise that most auction houses including Vectis even allow it!? If not, then read their terms. If you expect there is always a chance of ...

Re: Anyone in the US able to help me with shipping a small item?

When I first started collecting there was no GSP and US shipping charges were a lot more reasonable and along with the decent exchange rate I bought loads from the US. It was easy to ask sellers to mark a low value on the package. Since GSP came along, US postage costs increased and the £ dropped it...

Re: Anyone in the US able to help me with shipping a small item?

Of course but unfortunately there is less opportunity to help considering UK and European postage costs are usually very reasonable. And I don’t believe the US has to contend with VAT and GSP to the same degree that we do. So whilst I offer to return the favour, I’ve found very few people take me up...

Re: Anyone in the US able to help me with shipping a small item?

Thanks Lars, i always hate to ask in case it’s a hassle. Unfortunately I had to take a hit on the GSP fees on this one.

Anyone in the US able to help me with shipping a small item?

Anyone in the US able to help me with shipping a small item to the UK? Shipping and GSP are adding about 50% to the price I’ve had a couple of friends who have helped in the past but I always hate to ask and put people on the spot as you never know when it’s a bad time or a hassle. I’d be happy to r...
