Re: Fake Irish 3 Pack Video

I’m no expert on these three packs but my understanding of them is that they were a cheeky attempt to make a quick buck off of the back of a donation of weaponless figures from Kenner. If so, does this not make them no more than a curiosity? Collectible maybe, but no better than a Toy Toni item, or...

Re: Vintage Rebellion Episode 65 LAUNCHED

Well done guys. I was a little worried at how this was going to work without Stu, and I must confess it felt weird during the intro without him. But four hours in and thought the new crew and features really gelled. I enjoyed Andy’s interviews at Echo and now feel bad I didn’t speak to anyone other ...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Thanks all - and Alisdair it is odd but I’d guess that hovercraft and scooter are both used in Italian, so it is a translation of sorts? According to Google translate, the direct Italian interpretation of Land Speeder would have been ‘Acceleratore Di Terra’ which sounds a little less like it was co...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Alisdairmac has been very busy. I do like a mini rig and that INT=4 with the WHS sticker is great. Really like Carl's pick-ups too, lovely Boba and two-pack and the Kaybee bag is special. I don't seem to be buying anything other than Landspeeders recently - here's a 12 back Harbert to go with my 21...

Re: Die cast X-Rays

Neat. So are the pegs on the wings on early ones? Thanks for all the good comments, and yes. Kenner switched to the rods in the body as the wing pegs were too loose. I don’t think we ever had the early ones in the UK. It was a fast change, and Kenner first tried adding instructions to tell people h...

Re: Die cast X-Rays

Cheers Nick, it is good that they match but something is not thought about until I saw the images. Just a bit of fun, but could actually start a new venture at work if people are interested. Suspect it’s a bit niche

Die cast X-Rays

Mentioned that I was getting my TIE mailer X-rayed at work to a few people this weekend, so for those interested here are the results. A TIE! It's clearly the first issue without the body pegs, which works with the early issue box. And you can see the catalogue's shape too. TIE mailer X Ray 1 (1).JP...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Congrats on the other pic ups too, that Takara landspeeder is lovely Nick and the range of other stuff posted is great. I think this was my favourite Echo so far, I bought a good range of things and here are some of them. Learnt loads about Fascal stickers from Martin and Darren, so picked up some t...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Collecting since 1994. Never wanted to pay the market prices for a lose Vinyl Cape Jawa. Now patience paid off, when this little fella popped up on ebay as a buy-it-now for € 300/£ 270 including the card with (correct) open bubble. As I had a code, I only paid € 285 /£ 255. The last few days were a...

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 64 LAUNCHED

Managed to listen to this one a bit quicker than the past two. Really like the new format, Mark and Andy did a great job and such a shame that Stu is leaving. Replacing Stu as host is going to be a tough job for someone. Particularly sad as I was just starting to enjoy Stu and Rich’s new feature - t...

Re: VECTIS AUCTION - Thursday 26th September

Just spoke with Vectis and they are bringing my winning lots to Sandown Toy Fair in November to save on postage (plus I don't want to risk damage to bubbles in the post). If anyone else would like their lots picked up on their behalf I am happy to bring them to FF in December, if that helps anyone?...
