Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

 I always steal Rach's ;) Mixed results. Most came off fine, hairdryer then gently peeled one edge. Takes a while to get it started. Once you've got enough peeled to get grip, you can heat and pull. Some left some residue, which comes off with patience and furniture polish. Need to be careful ...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Yeah, the stickers aren't the easiest to remove! Wish they would knock the stupid fake card scuffing on the head though. My son was comparing them to my vintage MOCs yesterday and found it very amusing! Did you manage to get the stickers off in the end Andy? I've heard that they can be a problem al...

Re: Need help afa purchase

I can't really see AFA giving an 80% on a bubble that's coming away but it would be easy enough for this to happen in transit, either from leaving AFA or arriving to you. It's the problem with sealed items as you can't support the bubble in any way in transit once it's incased but if you put in a cl...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

I've gone for a few of these figures that should be arriving soon although I didn't order Cara Dune and I'm not getting caught up in all of the madness surrounding people picking up her figures at inflated prices. I can understand people wanted to complete their certain collections though so I guess...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

I've not posted here in what feels like an eternity, although I have been lurking ;) Doubt I'll ever get a better example of a 30 back Fett than this cardback - and even this cost me an arm and a leg! :D But it's a corker! I'm now only needing ONE card/re-seal away from completing a full SW and ESB...

Re: Star Wars board game appreciation.

You've just reminded me that I have a vintage ESB Yoda board game tucked away somewhere that I really should get out and play with my kids. I don't remember ever playing it and now may well be the time :D

Re: Vintage Star Wars Stickers

Just an update, there are multiple stickers per holder I thought there was and I would suggest not taking them off of the rubber bands as I get the feeling that this might be an unused set that none were sold. If this is the case I would imagine that this could be very rare although it's hard to kn...

Re: Cardbacks with Correct Figure and accessory

Yes I believe you’re right. We haven’t seen a Kenner 12 back small head Han with a M4 rebel blaster but Palitoy 12 backs were released later than US 12 backs. I don’t know much about Palitoy 12 backs but guessing the large head Han is much rarer on 12 backs than small head Han just like Kenner. Gue...

Re: Vintage Star Wars Stickers

I remember these hanging in most newsagents back in the day along with the letraset transfer sets. Really nice to see one again :D

Re: Cardbacks with Correct Figure and accessory

Jeremy, this is great. This is more along the lines of what I would of expected. I’ll pm you for more info in the next few days. Just wondered if you think my Han one from the sealed Large Head Han cut card is a V5? You see to have an expert eye for these things so it would be good to know. Ian I w...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

I’m really, really pleased with this new acquisition today, a 1979 UK store display for the Star Wars activity books by British publisher Armada (amended from the original US versions by Random House). This appears unused, the stands on the back haven’t been folded, and it’s holding 5 copies of eac...

Re: Cardbacks with Correct Figure and accessory

Thanks Lars and I'll post some more up at a later date and make a mention of not being 100% sure on the first blaster. You might be right about V4 and V5 and it's worth remembering that the pin head Han was released first and the Large head Han was a later release so the blasters may well have chan...

Re: Cardbacks with Correct Figure and accessory

I can help with a Palitoy Pin Head 12 back. Mine comes with a dark green V3:

That's great to see and it does look like different blasters were used for later versions (which figures).

Re: Modern collection thread

Loving the display @grinchy 8) Here's my only modern display- UK POTF2 Wave 1, 2 & SOTE. Have really good memories of getting these when they first came out- exciting times! Wanted it to look a bit like a mid-nineties shop display :) It's so easy to move them around and keep it fresh 8) 2021032...
