Re: Palitoy 12 back and 20 back set question

Hi, I am half way through a Palitoy 12 back set, and 3 to go on a 20 back set. This question has likely been asked before ,( but I cannot find anything in search-) has anyone got a real rough idea of how many completed sets there are out there. As it would be interesting to know if it`s tens, hundr...

Re: The LEGO Corner

I have the sandcrawler still to build.

Was considering getting a few of the Billy book cases for display some star wars and lego pieces.

Do they have much depth? Would be nice to display some of the modular buildings on there

Re: Price rises over ten years

I do wish I’d started collecting earlier and I very nearly did in the late 90’s after getting hooked on the EU novels, starting with the Zahn trilogy but I deemed it too expensive  I was fortunate enough to get hooked on the novels in 92 and star wars was still relatively cheap. Hit car boot s...

Re: MOC Empire Strikes Back Palitoy Darth Vader

Yes I agree. That's a great list you have done there. With regards to your question Anthony, there is usually a huge difference between 45a and b. Though a great looking card, there's never as much demand as people prefer the cards with the logo. Even If the b version is rarer the a will usually get...

Re: The future of Vintage Star Wars collecting

The way I look at it is not as the future of collecting, but as the future of my collecting. I try as possible not to let that be affected too much by what anyone else is doing. Not easy admittedly. ultimately I have only collected for one reason and for one person. Myself and my own enjoyment. I've...

Re: End of 2018 Collecting Review, 2019 goals

My usual goal is always to get what Palitoy MOC I can find to complete character run and add any miscards to my collection that I can. Managed a few Palitoy in 2018, including one that completed a character run - Leia Bespin No miscards this year sadly. For 2019 it would be nice to complete a few mo...

Re: What got you back into collecting?

For me it was initially finding and reading non-stop the Heir to the Empire book in 1992. That re-awoke my obsession/passion for Star Wars - and luckily I had kept al my childhood toys. Later that same year my then girlfriend bought me a handful of imperial figures she found at a carboot sale and fr...

Re: Dumb Question - Palitoy vs Kenner

I remember when I was a kid that all my figures were Palitoys until right near the end (when we seemed to get flooded with Kenner stuff). One of the things that stood out as a kid was that Kenner stuff seemed to be of worse quality. I don't know whether this was objectively true or not, but I do re...

Re: Elliott Ashton - Memorial Thread

Top bloke. Knew him for many years and can't even begin to express my sadness at his loss. In the town where he lived (leytonstone) he did so much to promote Star Wars and even got the Stuart Freeborn acknowldege there! Enjoyed the artistic events he put on and meeting him for a soft drink in the lo...

Re: What did everyone have in their childhood collection?

At the time I thought I had most of the figures with the exception of Lumat, B-wing Pilot and Han trench coat. I had picked up Anakin, Imperial Dig and A wing. But had not idea of any others, so obviously in addition to the above 3 was missing most of the last 17. Did have lots of doubles of key fig...

Re: -what's a true holy grail...

As far as I'm concerned a true holy grail is whatever piece you want most, for whatever personal reasons you have for wanting it. Like the other classic 'mega rare' grail gets thrown about a lot. This is or that is the holy grail of star wars collectors etc... Bull! who is anyone to tell me what the...
