Re: James Martin / Waltham Wookiee

Very sad news. He was a regular at Farthest From and it was always a pleasure stopping to have a chat with him at every show.

He will most definitely be sorely missed.

I doubt anyone knows the answer to this but I thought I would ask, which is rarer a Palitoy 45C or 65 back Luke X Wing?
To be honest, I had no idea either were rare until recently!

I'm guessing you are right though...nobody knows the answer.

I certainly don't!

Re: Palitoy 12 and 20 Back MOCs

12 and 20 backs have been the main Palitoy card that people have been after for far longer than I have been collecting Palitoy. This makes them possibly the easiest cards to give a reasonable idea of rarity (though easiest and reasonable are highly relative terms) as there are decades of wants lists...

Re: MOC Rarity

The 21b v 21 Fett is a good example of how rarity is not always the deciding factor in value. The Fett is a very popular piece and demand for one is high among many collectors willing to pay a high price. The same is true of the DT Ben. They maybe niche, but it's a much larger niche than the 21b fil...

Re: MOC Rarity

The problem with going for the rare items first, is that they are termed rare for a reason and so it is unlikely, depending on degree of rarity, that the rares could be bought first. Unless of course you just didn't buy anything until you had all the rare. Rare does not also equate to more expensive...

Re: Palitoy 12 back and 20 back set question

Hi, I am half way through a Palitoy 12 back set, and 3 to go on a 20 back set. This question has likely been asked before ,( but I cannot find anything in search-) has anyone got a real rough idea of how many completed sets there are out there. As it would be interesting to know if it`s tens, hundr...

Re: The LEGO Corner

I have the sandcrawler still to build.

Was considering getting a few of the Billy book cases for display some star wars and lego pieces.

Do they have much depth? Would be nice to display some of the modular buildings on there

Re: Price rises over ten years

I do wish I’d started collecting earlier and I very nearly did in the late 90’s after getting hooked on the EU novels, starting with the Zahn trilogy but I deemed it too expensive  I was fortunate enough to get hooked on the novels in 92 and star wars was still relatively cheap. Hit car boot s...

Re: MOC Empire Strikes Back Palitoy Darth Vader

Yes I agree. That's a great list you have done there. With regards to your question Anthony, there is usually a huge difference between 45a and b. Though a great looking card, there's never as much demand as people prefer the cards with the logo. Even If the b version is rarer the a will usually get...

Re: The future of Vintage Star Wars collecting

The way I look at it is not as the future of collecting, but as the future of my collecting. I try as possible not to let that be affected too much by what anyone else is doing. Not easy admittedly. ultimately I have only collected for one reason and for one person. Myself and my own enjoyment. I've...

Re: End of 2018 Collecting Review, 2019 goals

My usual goal is always to get what Palitoy MOC I can find to complete character run and add any miscards to my collection that I can. Managed a few Palitoy in 2018, including one that completed a character run - Leia Bespin No miscards this year sadly. For 2019 it would be nice to complete a few mo...
