Re: SWFUK Annual Statistics

I don't want to turn this into a facebook-bashing thread, but the layout of a forum when compared to social media helps hugely with educating yourself about the hobby. The number of fb people forking out significant amounts of money without a clue as to whether their items are legit is staggering.

Re: SWFUK Annual Statistics

Again, echoing what others have said. This place is a haven of (comparative) sanity with a sensible, structured layout when everything is or has moved to facebook.

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 32, 2019, Part 2/2

When I got back into collecting vintage in the 90's, the Cloud City playset was an elusive and rarefied thing you could only dream of owning (this was pre-eBay, of course). Because it was rare, and especially because I didn't have one, I craved one!   I remember reading through a co...

Surprised not to see a MOC already posted, but happy to post mine :D

Absolutely loved this figure when I first saw it as a kid, the removeable helmet is a stroke of genius. Fantastic sculpt too.

You know you want to! It's a really nice MOC, sadly I just don't have the space to display it.

FS: Takara die-cast TIE Fighter MOC - WITHDRAWN FROM SALE

I'm moving this on as I'm having a small change of focus. I'm looking for NOW £90 + postage (was £100 + postage). The card 's glossy and unpunched. There are a a number of creases - on the front there's a vertical crease from the right of the hanger down to the bubble. The same crease veers off to t...

Re: Forum Playset of the Year 2019 - Semi final - Match 2

I agree with the comments above, the Palitoy Death Star is fantastic toy with loads of playability. I was never allowed one as a kid (being predominantly cardboard it wasn't deemed 'value for money' by my parents... even though we had the Palitoy 'Land of the Jawas'), but it's something I've coveted...

Land of the Jawas for me too. My brother has it as a kid and we used to play with it endlessly.

I remember that the JPEGs of card fronts available in the late 90s had exactly that issue - the photos being much lighter than the rest of the card front.

Re: Original weapons?

I am not sure when repro started, I started to collect in 2001 and there was repro weapons in 2001. I have heard the first ones came in the 90s. But I do not know if it was in the early or late 90s :? The good thing is they were not any good and many of them was the wrong colour, grey rebel blaster...

Re: Die cast TIE Fighter MOC (Takara)

Cheers gents, much appreciated. Very cool item, hope your not selling it. But good luck if you do. :) I think I will be selling it. I was going for a run of die cast TIE fighter MOCs and already have a couple of the Kenners, but I've decided to go for the DV TIE (which I already have) and X-Wing MOC...
