Re: Kim Simmons Volume 2 ESB 80-82

This has now launched on kickstarter . There are some eye-watering prices but I'm a sucker for books like this. And global shipping is included in the price, so you can relax Richard  It's what I expected price wise due to the shipping although are you sure that the shipping is included in the...

Re: Share your childhood vintage toy repairs

I remember my Luke Bespin being softer plastic than the other figures which resulted in one of his legs breaking off. As an 8 year old the only repair I could come up with was blu-tack... which was crap!

Re: R2 identification

Great stuff, thanks for the ID Looks like this version was UK release with talking and 4 phrases, but they used the same mouldings for the US release 12 inch non talking version, that came with the Death Star plans Need to clean and do some work on the little fella now see if I can get the vote wor...

Re: Forthcoming Vintage Collecting Books

Javi was close to finishing the third instalment of the Made in Spain books. Also a book popped up in my feed a while back on FB by someone like Red 5 books which was meant to be a vintage figure book akin to the Kellerman. Can’t find the post now and don’t know if anyone else saw it It's 'Read Fiv...

Re: Tie Fighter battery disaster

Lemon juice works exactly the same way. We were clearing out our old board games the other week and our 'Operation' had exactly the same problem. After a few minutes of applying lemon juice with a cotton bud it was working again nicely.

Re: What are the 5 favourite items in your collection?

These probably change regularly, but as of now and in no particular order: R2D2 12" boxed - had one as a kid and loved it. It's a great likeness, is fun to play with and the box artwork/design is really cool too. R2D2 LSAF MIB 1.jpg First 12 display stand - this is popping up regularly in this threa...

Re: Vintage Photos

Great picture although I'm wondering how you played with the 12" chewy, Boba and R2 together?! That must have been some interesting imagination to get all 3 of those together in a play scene :D Ian  I've got to admit as cool as those 12" figures were I don't remember playing with them that much.

Re: Vintage Photos

I've posted this a few times on here so apologies to those who've already seen it. My Dad dug out this picture when he heard I was collecting again, and seeing it brought back so many memories... not least that the canopies on my snowspeeder and twin-pod broke really easily!! Those plastic tabs were...

Re: Resealing a 12-Back Palitoy Jawa

That looks great, and it's brilliant to see thought, effort and patience going into the process... and the rewards for it are obvious!

This past week I've watched films which didn't have me as gripped as that write-up!

Imperial Troop Transport, simply for the sound effects. I absolutely loved it but never got one. It's just occurred to me that I never got one! Why the hell not? I've been collecting for 11 years :o I'm such a rubbish collector! Must get one soon :D   It was always on my list of purchases...

Re: What's the one vintage SW item you wished you had as a kid but never got?

A Jawa. Never ever saw one in shops. Maybe they were more limited in numbers than say, Lando Skiff or something. There were loads of exciting bits and bobs I only realised existed in the early 90s, but top of that 'need to have as a kid' list item is still a Jawa. I really remember looking out for ...
