Re: Star Wars Scalextric Prototype - Battle of Hoth Set items - never released

Thank you Weasel, it’s been a while since I was last on a forum and it’s taken me a while to work out how to get photos on, hopefully they are visible now? Rob, amazing item. Having seen the photos of the “finished” set it’s a shame it never got made. Looks bloody brilliant and much better than the...

Re: Star Wars Scalextric Prototype - Battle of Hoth Set items - never released

Never released , huh ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scalextric-Scale-Start-Star-Battle/dp/B00BCU6XVW Well, you find one for sale elsewhere or one that’s sold elsewhere. It was showcased at a Toy Fair in 2013 or so and a price set but it never made it to market. This is a very cool item and I’d love to ...

Re: East Bristol Auctions

It did end up with Bristol TS who called me. The way it works now is you have to report the matter through Citizen's Advice Bureau and they pass it on to the local TS if it's appropriate to do so. Yes, Andy and Andrew are one and the same person. I have his surname but as this is more of a "wat...

Re: East Bristol Auctions

I’ve reported East Bristol to Trading Standards in April 2018. TS actually gave me a call back and said they were going to be discussing with them “just how many offences they’d committed” . They were selling Real Ghost Busters proof cards as having been obtained directly from an ex-Kenner emp...

Re: Special buy figure bag

Tough one to price. If it's a genuine one it wouldn't surprise me if someone forked out three figures for it. Bare in mind you can then stick your own mint figures or baggies in to make it look great on display again.

Got any photos?

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Great to see some bargains making up the thread here. Can't go wrong with a Rancor for a fiver and that's quite the haul for £50 :) Spoons, those soundtracks look mint. If I had a quid for every well used soundtrack I had I'd have at least a tenner... But those look superb and that poster is cracking.

Re: 41 discovered card Proofs

Shame it's not a new find but as all have said they are, without doubt, reproductions. The glue damage could well be from a water-based glue hence the inks have run and yet you can still feel the glue. Always worth checking these sorts of things out though. New items are being discovered all the tim...

Re: Palitoy ROTJ Fx-7 45 BACK

Don’t see many of these about. Well, any, actually. I’ve not seen one, anyway, which isn’t necessarily the same thing :) I’d say this is one of the rarer 45C cards. I’ve checked tracker and there are none on there, either. However, rare does not always translate to megabucks, particularly with the l...

That may have been the one that sold at Vectis in Sept 2018 for £400 plus fees. Still a cracking buy for a superb item.

Re: BBC Star Wars Collecting Article Today

All over for me, and sad but happy to be the underbidder on that TIE bomber. In the words of Reeves and Mortimer - my wife would have killed me  That’s a shame mate. A superb addition it would have been. But certain that’s the second one with that sticker to surface. There may be more.... Did ...

Barton Street, Gloucester

Just made a purchase that suggests it was from a toy shop on Barton Street in Gloucester. It would have been there from early to mid 70s at the very minimum and probably many years either side. Anyone remember a toy shop down there?

Not SW and posted unapologetically :D It was on auction ending in two days but without bids I asked him if he’d accept the start bid as a BIN and he did. My ebay purchase and a £7 saving.
