Re: Klaatu ... so what's the deal with this fella?

My recent ebay watches:

Biker Scout - sold for £63
Bib fortuna - sold for £34

I am putting collecting on hold until this artificially inflated bubble we are in goes pop (if indeed it ever does).

Re: Has the pandemic changed your attitude to your collecting?

I could be one of the idiots that has started collecting during lockdown. However the price of the originals figures is far too much and I have bought the Modern Retro Collection instead because they look very similar to the figures I had as a child. I think there is a review somewhere comparing th...

Re: Has the pandemic changed your attitude to your collecting?

It certainly has as far as prices are concerned, I just had my eye on a minty Biker Scout on fleabay Ended up selling for £63!...£63!...For a Biker Scout. I mean, they are a great figure, and I really want to add a minty one to my collection, but not at £63! and it was not even a Ledy or short mouth...

That's pretty cool to be fair.

Certainly has some novelty factor about it.

Re: Anyone else having a vintage drought?

Not so good for me on the collecting front! Had to sell up most of my collection to help fund house move last year, and uncertainty with employment meant I had to sell off the rest! I am planning to rebuild a loose collection, average condition , but still can't quite bring myself to pay the prices...

Re: Anyone else having a vintage drought?

Yeah I am. I haven't bought anything this year, I got up to about 42 or so out of a mint loose run and ran out of steam mid 2019. I fully intend to pick it up again at some point, but prices just seem to be climbing all the time. In particular the last 17 are going crazy, they will definitely become...

Absolutely stunning!

This is as good as it gets, the first figure I ever owned, the one that started it all for me, and I still have it to this day (albeit not carded  ).

I hope he found a good home.

Re: What's the one vintage SW item you wished you had as a kid but never got?

Falcon and Luke Bespin. Never got a Falcon, because that was a bigger "Birthday" or "Christmas" list item according to my parents, still never got one though (even though it went on the list about 10 times). Could never find a Luke Bespin for some reason. I hunted high and low fo...

Re: New retroline.......

I was really stoked for these when I first saw the U.S. versions. I was on the fence as to whether I should cancel the order when I saw the European versions, I now know I made the right choice by cancelling, they look hideous. I just don't understand why they would run a MOC retro line, and then sh...

Where did you see these?

All the U.K. ones I have seen are pre-order for August (Forbidden planet even says September 12th, maybe they know something no-one else does?).

Re: Vintage to Modern figures.

They’re all shite!!! But there’s always someone who’s into anything. Just because you/I/we don’t like them, to some people they’re what they collect and they do so with the same enthusiasm we collect a vintage moc. I don’t get it but it’s each to their own. As for Ep 1 figures, I like them. Much mo...

Re: New retroline.......

Apparently the U.K. stock is going to be from a different production run (heads up variant collectors!) and its uncertain whether they will have the safety sheets at this time. Probably worth holding off cancelling pre orders until we see what they look like. That is good to know. I thought about c...
