Re: Talk about new Star Wars movie, do not read if you have NOT seen it

A few more thoughts. Captain Phasma - why didn't they have her fight Finn instead if a random stormtrooper? That's got to be a mistake. Phasma does nothing except lower the shield! Solo dying didn't upset me, but Chewey's reaction did. That was really amazing, something no cgi character could do. Th...

Re: Talk about new Star Wars movie, do not read if you have NOT seen it

I really enjoyed it for the most part. There was a great atmosphere in the cinema and I think we got carried away by that, maybe viewing it again in a few months I might be a bit more critical. It got a lot right, so much so that I think it's a shame that it stole so much of it's plot from the OT. I...

Re: TFA Trailer

It's a good trailer, doesn't give much away but we get a clearer idea if where the characters are coming from. Looks good, and that music! I was afraid of watching it but I don't think it spoils anything. 2 months, not long now.

Re: TFA Tickets now on sale.

I got lucky, remembered tickets were on sale at around 11am, checked on the website and went straight through. Odeon Leicester Square, 12.01am on Thursday. It's the first showing so hopefully the atmosphere will be great. The only downside is it's in 3D. I'll see it again in 2D once the dust settles...

Re: THE FORCE AWAKENS - Theatrical Poster - IT'S HERE!!

Not a fan of the poster. Photoshopped to buggery. Where's the style? And once again, everything is blue and orange!!!

Managed to get two tickets fairly easily, Odeon Leicester square, midnight showing... The atmosphere will be amazing. :D

Re: Worst Star Wars Figure/Playset in your opinion

Got to be Prune Face for me. It was one of those times as a kid where I had saved up my pocket money, it was burning a hole in my pocket and I really wanted a new figure... and Prune Face was the only new figure the shop had, so I bought him. I hate the colours, his trousers, the gun didn't look lik...

Re: Star Wars Battlefront BETA

I really wanted to like this but after playing the beta for quite a few hours I can tell it's not for me. I'm not a fan of CoD or Battlefield, I don't like multiplayer games in general, but I liked the first 2 battlefront games and I am addicted to The Last of Us multiplayer. Well, you couldn't get ...

Re: The modern line

I got quite into the potf2 stuff when it first came out. I remember a couple of mates and I made a big order from the US when the sandtrooper and dewback were first released. I got quite a few figures, the Ronto etc... But it kind of faded when the special editions came out. The nail in the coffin w...

Re: Well apparently, im not a Star Wars geek after all...TFA

I'm looking forward to TFA, but like most here the original films are where it's at. I had a look through a Star Wars insider magazine the other week and there was hardly anything in it I could recognise. There was loads of animation coverage, really awful designs, EU stuff, books etc. Star Wars is ...

Re: Yahoo's "best" SW changes made by George when he was bored

All the changes are dreadful. I was hoping Disney would see sense and release restored versions of the original theatrical editions, but so far no word. Whilst I admire the amount if work Adywan has put into his projects, to me they are just other versions of the special editions. He makes his own t...

He probably meant Honk Kong dollars?

I've not got a problem with the figures, I just don't know why the pauldron is so small? Looks a bit off to me.

Re: New Han Solo Film(s)

We already know everything single thing we need to know about Han Solo within the first five minutes of meeting him. What's the point of the movie other than cash? I really hate prequels of any kind - if a film is successful enough to have a prequel it obviously doesn't need one. Characters even mor...

Re: bleaching for restoration - good or bad idea?

For years museums have been cleaning and restoring masterpieces so we can see them as close as possible to what they were like when first painted. This can actually make them look a bit cheap as the colours are so vibrant they don't look old anymore... So that's another way of looking at it I suppos...

Re: bleaching for restoration - good or bad idea?

I've done the retrobrite thang on a few old beat up figures. I couldn't get it to work until I stumbled upon this stuff: http://www.boots.com/en/Jerome-Russell-B-Blonde-Cream-Peroxide-for-Medium-to-Dark-Brown-Hair-75ml_1110807/?cm_mmc=pla-_-google-_-PLAs-_-Boots+Shopping+-+Category+-+Toiletries This...

Re: http://www.toyswereyours.co.uk/

A couple of years ago I bought a tie fight window from them. The one pictured look new, no yellowing, the one I got had been pissed on... Good service though, I thought the price was ok.

I just had another look at the site and I don't remember all the repro stuff back then.
