Re: Who was the UK equivalent of Steve Denny?

I remember Jim Stevenson's ads always being in sc-fi/model magazines back in the 90's - has he retired? Surprised he doesn't have an online presence by now. I've only heard Jason Joiner's name from reading this forum. Anybody got any personal stories from the mid to late 80's of finding a SW trove? ...

Who was the UK equivalent of Steve Denny?

After reading the amazing interview at Kenner Collector with Steve Denny it made me wonder if there was anyone over here doing the same thing at the same time? :) Obviously Steve's proximity to Cincinnatti at that time gave him access to prototypes, Kenner employee's etc (and bin raking!) but was an...

Full set of Revenge proof cards for $50?? Imperial Shuttles MIB for $8.98?? Jedi carded Boba's 50c each??? unproduced Droids figures 1$ each??? Rocket firing Boba 10$ each??????   It seems almost surreal reading that interview. He started collecting at exactly the right time an...

Re: A few starcases

Sorry to hijack your thread Dave. I'm actually looking for some Star Cases (or equivalent) as well. Maybe about 10. Not too fussed what they're like for display etc, I'm really just wanting them for protection as I'm moving house. I was just about to put up my own thread and I saw you had one alread...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Totally agree monkey_roo. I'd say the majority of SW fans I know have given Rebels the thumbs up and like the original trilogy influence. You'd think Hasbro would have got their act together and had a half a dozen figures in stores. I never really got into the Clone Wars cartoons (i was fed up heari...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Very smart little pack - am I right in saying the exclusive figure is a ghost of Obi-Wan type thing? I thought I heard someone comparing it to the Spirit Of Ob-Wan figure in '97. .....man, I'm just not keen on that Disney logo at the top. Just seems wrong! :) I like the big oversize figures. I've se...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Love the homestead - such a great display piece Picked up a nice assortment today, some mini fig key ring and magnets with a cute display behind them, daughter bought the Back to the future set and plans to pick up Ghostbusters ecto 1 tomorrow But highlight was finally getting my hands on a BS 6&qu...

Re: How Much Did You Have As a Kid?

[/quote] I'm not surprised you couldn't find Luke X-Wing or most of the earlier figures if you started collecting when the Jedi figures came out, as although they were still being produced on ROTJ & Trilogo cards these were in much, much lower quantities than the Jedi figures as I assume Kenner ...

Re: Who's Who - Introduce yourself!

Welcome Leon and Ricky. Ricky that's a fucked up situation. I'm sure it sent a shiver up everyone here. haha, the stuff of nightmares for any SW fan. I could buy a thousand MIB X-Wings but none have the memories of my old battle damaged one! I just need to get on with it I suppose. Nobody's d...

Re: How Much Did You Have As a Kid?

I was 7 when Jedi was out and had no older brothers so I was a late starter to the line. A lot of friends had older brothers who passed down the toys to them so they had this instant collection of SW and Empire figs/ships! My younger brother and I shared, but between us we did pretty well with ships...

Re: Let's get YUB NUB number one for christmas

Limited edition 7" pic disc would bump sales too! Its got Star Wars on it, so limited edition to about 100,000 and each pic disc would likely end up with 1 of 10 different Ewoks! Ensuring those of us with OCD/SW completists have to buy them all - hey presto, no 1! Can you believe H...

Battle Damaged X-Wing MIB - grey version, no electronics

I'm looking for a Jedi boxed Battle Damaged X-wing. The European grey version with no electronics. Not sure if this was released in a Palitoy, Bilogo box etc - I'm not fussed. Must be a good box at least and include the inners etc. Doesn't have to be an AFA/UKG 90 here, just as long as it displays f...
