Re: Wow - this is shocking.

There's a very easy answer to the repro question and that is to make them very easily identifiable - either by colour or moulding. If the repro makers stuck to that, and making customs of figures and other toys that never existed, then I think most if not all of the conflict would go away and they w...

Re: End of 2020 collecting review and goals for 2021

My 2020 goals were: 1. A couple more significant U.K. store display and/or food related pieces; Yes - 3 store display posters and a HCF pencil sharpeners box 2. The elusive Helix 10 fibre tip pens set; No - still looking 3. The pieces I need to finish my Frankel & Roth bags, Palitoy diecast, and...

End of 2020 collecting review and goals for 2021

2020 has not quite been the year that we imagined at this time last year! Despite all the challenges, what are our personal achievements this year, and what are our hopes and collecting goals for 2021?

Last years thread... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40083

Re: Christmas tat 2020

The only SW I got was a Death Star maze game from the kids, and the Rise of Skywalker art book, which is great - but very much related to SW, my main gift this year was an IKEA Detolf cabinet, which is my first opportunity to have some of my collection on display! Really looking forward to filling i...

That’s a fabulous story - what an amazing Nan! Just like a portal back into the 80s, getting one of your gifts delivered from back in the day. Lovely.

Re: Latest Acquisitions

I’d like to share the latest addition to my collection, a true ‘holy grail’ piece for me, and one that has really excited and enthused me. The snowy Hoth scenes in The Empire Strikes Back are among my favourite parts of the saga, and in all of the behind the scenes footage and photos, the distinctiv...

Re: RIP Jeremy Bulloch

Such sad news. I knew Jeremy well, such a lovely, gentle, kind and funny man, he was so generous with his time in support of our charity fundraising activities. So many great memories, he’ll be deeply missed. Thoughts to Maureen and his family.

Re: Where to post?

I agree - it looks like the Vader action figure case. As I see it there may be 2 possible answers. 1 - it is a moulded ‘buck’ piece used to produce the original cases, at Kenner (in the US) or Palitoy (in the UK), in which case it could be worth into the £1000’s. 2 - it is a fan produced piece mould...

Re: Anyone else having a vintage drought?

I’ve more or less finished my carded run - need a few upgrades but I’m in no hurry - so I haven’t bought a MOC this year. I’m buying much more Beyond the Toys and Cast & Crew gear, and haven’t found that to be in short supply - there have been some great pieces on both ebay and FB and I’m really...

Re: Space efficient (and cheaper) alternative to Star Cases

I haven’t bought the action figure cases yet - Star Cases will do for now as I have plenty of those - but I do like the Deflector DC vehicle / playset cases. They’re not as good as acrylic but they look good on display, and most importantly for me, provide great protection to fragile boxes at a very...

Re: Empire Strikes Back European Premiere Programme and Ticket

One to auction I’d suggest. The programme should be £150 to £200 in good condition (there’s one on eBay at £245 at present, which hasn’t sold). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-EMPIRE-STRIKES-BACK-Star-Wars-European-Royal-Charity-Premiere-BROCHURE/154150161695?hash=item23e410cd1f:g:BT8AAOSw~bBfjZMn Th...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Just received these Palitoy General Sales Division and Retail Sales Division 1979 retailer catalogues to go with the price list that I already had . The Star Wars content is great (prototypes!) but there's lots of other vintage Palitoy goodness in there as well - a snapshot of a 70s childhood. Love ...
