    R5 D4 red bar

Hi all, here is my R5 D4 which is my own childhood toy, probably acquired at Christmas or birthday 1979 or '80. It is well played with : after I had done with it both my sons played with my collection as they were growing up too. I only learned it was a red bar variant maybe 5 or 6 years back...

Toy of the week 2, Week 18, 2024, Power Droid

I didn't have one as a child, and only have a loose one now but I love it. The cardbacks with the deep pinks are really striking. Mark.

SW Cinema Ticket Reading 1977 - First Screening

Just a quick observation, the date of this ticket would be 1978, not '77. Star Wars premiered in one of the cinemas in Leicester Square London at the very end of 1977, and then opened across the rest of the UK at different times starting in 1978.

Toy of the week 2, Week 11, 2024, Land Speeder

I didn't have the Landspeeder toy as a child, but it was the first boxed Palitoy item I bought as an adult, around 20 years ago from Jim 'Mr Star Wars' Stevenson.

    Repro Han smuggler blaster

I can't seem to source a Han smuggler blaster for the Palitoy/Kenner original 3 3/4" figure range on ebay, anyone know where I can get one? Or even a cheapish original one, doesn't have to be repro. Cheers, Mark.

    Forum Vehicle of the Year 2024 - Round 1 - Group I

The scream of the Tie Fighters when I first saw SW in '78 aged 6, coupled with being fascinated with everything Tattooine including Jawas and Tusken Raiders mean the Tie and the Sandcrawler get my votes.

I'd be interested in the Jawa if you decide to sell. Cheers, Mark.

When and why did you stop collecting SW

For me, I had lots of stuff in the first wave of 1978, then more in 1980 with the release of Empire. But by the time of Jedi in 1983 I'd grown out of it.....I was only 11 going on 12 but bikes, football, fighting fantasy books and yes, boobs had taken over. Oh, and Atari. So my last figures were...
