Jason & The Arganauts, Clash of the Titans, Sinbad & The Eye of the Tiger...

Loved those Ray Harryhausen stop-motion movies as a kid.
Valley of Gwangi was another favourite. Dinosaurs and cowboys. Brilliant :D

Same for me, Valley of Gwangi blew my mind as child and as a stop motion animator it had quite a lasting effect on me although Luke on the Taun Taun probably made my mind up for me about what I wanted to do.

Childhood films though probably Superman,Ghostbusters and Indy.

I thought the same especially as the Sinbad mentions brought back great memories of watching them with my Grandfather.

I think I'd have a lot more to say if it was favourite 80's films, but an awful lot of them I didn't really watch that much when I was a kid (under 15), but I did grow a great fondness when I was that bit older, for ones I may have seen once as a child... and hold that fondness still to this day.

Has this tread become which films from the 80s did you enjoy.
Surely you guys never watched these films in your childhood, if you did well...

Nick, agree with you! I was thinking of films from primary school sort of age. Saw most of the others as an older teenager. First horror I saw was American Werewolf when I was around 12. Scared the living daylights out of me. Was at a mate's house and they'd recorded it off the TV- his mum was happy for us to watch it, my mum certainly wasn't happy when she found out!

I can't really remember watching films growing up other than being taken to see the odd Disney "classic", 2001 with my Dad and Where Eagles Dare with my Grand dad, I think these were the only times we went, money was tight.
Films I remember fondy when I was a teenager i.e over 16 are:
Blazing Saddles
Alien
The Warriors (what a classic)
I also remember seeing pirate copies of Shivers and Confessions of a window cleaner, both eye opening for different reasons

Add Rosie Dixon Night Nurse and Porkies to that last list for the same reason.
