I have had a couple of recards in my time when I have bought bulk collections. Some don't look to bad but most a pretty poor. The problem that you have when you come to sell them is that it is difficult to know whether the weapons are genuine or not - I sold quite a where I said this in the auction and then got around the price for a standard figure

If on the other hand you chose to be dishonest, like a number of ebay sellers seem to be - then you could try and pass them off as real !

Best advice is to either hang onto them or break them out and sell them off as loose

It's a no no for me! Whilst I can see why people would put recards/customs of rare/expensive items like Palitoy 12bk Luke or 21bk Fett in their collection to display, there's too many idiots who try to pass them off as legit.

The only problem I have with customs/recards is when they are intentionally sold as sealed in order to con someone.

But the issue is with the con, not the recard.

Carded figures look great and are a pretty cool way to display figures. You get the figure, it's name, a picture from the film and the name of the film all in one neatly contained package. 8)

If someone cannot afford to buy it sealed, cannot find the piece they want due to rarity, or does not wish to invest that kind of money into certain pieces, then it's a logical way to go.

I've had reseals in my collection for the above reasons and would do again. But I would never sell them on as sealed. The problem is others would!

Too true about people selling them on as ''Original Sealed Vintage Figure'' or not specifying it in the ad..
I've lost count at this stage of the amount of times I have had to clarify with a seller on eBay about ''Original carded Vintage figure'' only for them to come back and say ''Oh its actually a Repro or worse, I'm not sure...

Recards/custom cards/repaired carded figures all fall into the same kind of category for me - Not too keen on them and I don't buy them.

It all comes down to what you want.

I consider reseals etc as being a way to display loose figures.

If someone showed me their resealed collection but said 'look at my moc collection' I wouldnt be hugely impressed as it isn't what they say it is. It's like someone saying 'look at my motorbike' and they show you a bicycle.

I can appreciate the look of the bicycle but not if they are telling me it's a motorbike. Same too with miscards. i can appreciate the time and effort gone into collecting them, I can appreciate the display and the quality of the loose figures. But as a MOC collector, reseals are not what interest me. And I'm not a loose figure collector either anymore so reseals certainly don't compare to MOC

But I would use them to fill gaps that I'm never likely to fill, or may take ages to fill.

I had a Palitoy 12 back Jawa reseal in my collection for years. Had it on display in my collection room, heck even had it on display at Celebration Europe. I think I must have had it for 6 years before finally finding a decent enough sealed one to replace it!

I'm currently collecting Resealed original carded figures as it's an affordable way for me to have a nice looking collection of carded figures with their original cards and bubbles.

Still gives me a buzz to look at them and to be honest apart from fellow collectors on the forums 99% of people who see these in my home wouldn't know them from sealed examples.

Here's a set I'm trying to finish of the the first 12 figures on either their 12,20 or 21 back cards. So far this lot has cost me approx $450 including one which is a factory sealed MOC, anyone pick which one? Should be quite easy.

I have no problem with re-seals(Original card, bubble and figure). Essentially to me all you lack is the original seal. Yes it is nice to have them untouched/unopened, but I am not bothered at all as long as I have all the real components. Repaired carded figures are a little different. Using real cardbacks, skill and repro bubbles takes an artistict hand (Which someone like Han Duo lacked)....so I am not opposed to it as long as it is done correctly. Reproduction/copies I do not really get into, unless it is something either ultra rare or just way beyond my means. Customs are things that never existed and I make them all the time and find it a challenge. Oh and no I do not condone people selling any of as real deal or MOC.

I would take a reseal with all original parts over a repro or a custom any day, still I prefer the real thing if possible :)
