Hi. I have managed to buy a nice Stormtrooper Luke all original but missing the blaster. Does anyone have a correct blaster for sale, know where I can buy one from or confirm which exact blaster I need please?. From my studying (Variant Villan) it needs to be an M4 blue/black or solid black blaster. I have seen a few on Ebay but just cannot tell if any that are for sale is the correct one. I am new to blaster identification and am hoping someone on here with a lot more knowledge than me can help. Many thanks in advance. Kris.

I'd go for the blue/black, as the solid black is insane £££.
Ok many thanks. I would be right in saying that if I used the Blue black blaster the figure could still be called complete, correct and original?. Thing is I have two blue black blasters from when I was a kid but don't know if they are correct for this figure. I cannot be exact what figures these were originally bought with as I have lost some. It could be for my storm trooper, Hammerhead etc. Either way I would still need to buy more original blasters.

It depends on how you feel about your figure, because at the end of the day it's yours.
In my opinion as long as the blaster is original then the figure is complete.
I have a blue/black M4 with mine as the all black M4 is absolutely stupid money and more to the point don't come up for sale very often.
As long as you're not getting the figure graded, as they will only grade it with a black M4 I would say it's fine, just think of it as coming on a Tri-Logo card as they came with both colours…🤔
But if you really want a black blaster then buy a newly graded one, but be prepared to spend some big money, and resell yours.
If you have doubt about which blaster you have, post some good detailed pictures of it and I'll have a look for you.

Hi Mini.
These are photos of the two blasters I have. Would you say either could pair up ok with my new Luke Stormtrooper?. Also which type would you say they are?.

This as an ebay link to some blasters for sale. I was thinking of maybe b2?. What's your view on the price?

And then there are these two:

What do you think of those?

Many thanks again for your help.

Kris.

Sorry for the late reply, been away.

Right, with my tired old eyes I think 1b on the eBay list would be an M4, but it's sold unfortunately.
As for price, with postage included that's not bad.
I would expect to pay £17-£18 on the FB groups plus post.

As for your two, I'm going to need some help here, I think they are M5.
But to be totally honest, I would put any with him as they aren't repro, are the correct colour and really do we really care that much?
When I started collecting there were only two variants…carded or loose….it was simpler times.

@Snaketibe give me a hand will you, your eyes are newer than mine.

Hi Mini
Many thanks for your reply. I totally agree with what you say. It won't go for grading. It's to be displayed loose and like you say I think the blaster is good enough. I have just received the figure in the post. Here is a photo with the blaster attached. I think you will agree it looks correct.

That looks great, congratulations.

What I would do is, as I bought figures when they arrived I'd see if the blasters could be swapped around to get the correct factory one with the correct figure.
Other than that, enjoy your collection journey.

Sorry, only just seen this.

Yes, your 2 blasters are M5b Smile blasters, and yes, the eBay auction with lots of blasters did have a Kader M4 listed as item b1 (now sold).

As for the other eBay listing, it's hard to be completely sure without having sharper photos or ideally having it in hand, however the top blaster of the 2 shown does indeed appear to be an M4 Kader (an M4b, I *think*; again, tough to be certain from the photo), IMHO.

Hope that helps.

Jeremy
