Thought I'd share a wee project that's moving along nicely.
My wife (also a huge SW fan) and I liked the idea of have Death Star panels somewhere in the house. Finally decided they would look great in our bedroom.

6mm MDF with various sized cutouts on a wooden frame. The frame will allow us add LED strip lights and a sheet of acrylic

My wife is picking the paint for the panels and wall, probably going with a nice dark grey.

I'll update as we add the parts and paint.

You sir are lucky lucky man indeed, when I build my office/man room I might just do the same. Make sure you use high quality lighting strips that don't go yellow or fail easily as it would be a ball ache to fix once everything is in place.

Please do some updates with the project :D

Mate that is so cool, love this kind of thing. Can't wait to see the end result. I've seen a group called Star Wars room builders which has some interesting work. I'm putting a sliding door between my kitchen and utility room and thinking about making it a Star Wars door.

I'm in that group, some off the chart amazing builds on there mate.
I've kinda stalled a wee bit with this only because I'm pissed off the cutouts are too narrow. Should have made them a bit wider to be more screen accurate.
Deciding between starting again or cracking on and see what the look like painted
