Hi all, I am wondering what places/sites/shops do people use to collect vintage complete loose figures, do people just use ebay/gumtree/shpock etc. I have seen some shops but none that I can find in the North east england. I am not on Facebook or the likes.
Many Thanks Adam

Hi Adam,
I'm sorry to say that most of the sales these days are on Facebook.
eBay is still very good, but be very careful of repro accessories, I would always ask the seller to confirm that the accessory is genuine and if its isn't when you receive it then return for refund.
The odd sales post does appear on here now and again but not like they used to.😔

Hi Adam,

For shops check out the vintage shop directory i've created the link to the thread is below:

Most sales these days are on Facebook groups e.g Eco Base UK, Darkside Alliance to name a few.
I have picked up a few bargains via Facebook market place and Shpock but there's lots of competition so you need to be fast. Ebay is good but as @Mini99 has said repro is everywhere.

Are you near Durham? Durham Vintage Toys is situated in the Durham Indoor Market DH1 3NJ.
Toy fairs are also a good place to find stuff, not sure if close but there is a fair on Sat 12th Feb 2022 at the Gateshead International Stadium.

Thanks for the reply, yes I am very close to Durham and have been in the shop mentioned although I never seen any vintage star wars in there, We are probably going to go down the loose complete at first as my usual supplier has moved onto war memorabilia but I don't mind paying good money for good items if you know what I mean, me and Lennon just love the idea of having the vintage stuff, (not really into the new stuff although we still cant help but buy it haha there's boxes full in the loft from a shop in Newcastle when we payed 2 pound a figure on card, not good but for the price) I just like to build up a bit of trust with people as I have been scammed before. I am all over the gateshead toy fair never knew it was on I used to run there as a child. Many thanks Adam and Lennon

Keep an eye out in the sales posts on here, stuff does come up now an again.
Another one to mencion as it's very close to you is Vectis in Stockton-on-Tees, they specialise is just vintage toys, and is mecca for star wars.

Hi Adam, another Adam here  as already mentioned Facebook is where you'll find most sales.
I'd recommend setting up an account on there, even if you only use it for the Star Wars groups.
If you're trying for a loose set, then you'll find they all come up VERY frequently.. always worth holding back a short while before buying for the first time to get a feel for the going rates for what you want - you'll sometimes see things going for a lot more or a lot less.. plus you can usually have more confidence in buying genuine vintage accessories than on ebay.
Theres also a wealth of knowledge in those groups, just like on here..

Thanks JabbaWookie I want it all haha just need to win the lottery first raising 3 kids puts your money to use haha, I will speak with Lennon whilst we build up his hundred and odd Transformers to see what they will display like. I think it's going to be the loose complete price wise although we do have a couple of carded figures a grade 90 c3po and 5 or six other graded ones I have I think about 50 different loose figures but no weapons which is going to cost a fortune haha.

Many Thanks

Thanks sith smith I am at a toy fair next Sunday Clawrence told me about it, I drive past gateshead stadium all the time just never knew it was there so it just shows how much help people can be if people just ask. That's if my back allows it Lennon has had me sitting all day doing over a hundred transformers for his display haha.

Many Thanks

This is where being on Facebook is helpful as it's advertised though their FB page. However if you're in Sunderland it would be quite a journey as it's not far from Birmingham! It'll be over 2hrs for me by car from London. Could be over 3hrs for you.

Worth looking a bit further down on the main page of this Forum and you'll see the Star Wars events section.
