I have seen Prometheus and this is what I think

Well guys what did you think of it?

Looks like Ridley Scott is angling for at least 2 more films before it ties in with Alien.

The fact it's not a direct prequel explains why the ship crashes in a different position and why that "Engineer" didn't die with the Alien bursting from his stomach in the chair, to then be found by the crew of the Nostromo.

I didnt mind reading this as have no interest in this movie. I did like the first Alien film and alien resurrection plus loved Alien vs predator, but not a big enough alien fan to watch a lose link prequel.

It's not a bad stand alone film Lee. It's not THAT close to Alien that you wuld instantly think "this is an Alien rip off".

I am currently watching piranha 3DD online, its actually quite enjoyable instead of the complete **** I thought it was going to be.

Completely agree with you there Wease. Just got back from seeing it and to be honest I enjoyed it. Love the Alien films apart from the predator ones and resurrection and thought this was a really decent effort.

There has to be more sequels as for the reasons you outlined in your first post and I am looking forward to them!

The thing that made me laugh the most was that if it wasn't for the last 2 minutes then it had very little (apart from Weyland-Yutani and the planet name) to do with the Alien franchise!

If you distance it away from Alien- its not bad.

Great production- i hoping its building towards something.

I felt it could have done with a little more tension and the end felt a little disjointed.

Also felt there was no need to show the Alien like that. Alien works because less is more. Hollywood still hasn't worked that out yet.

Few things I don't get, yer random bod/engineer who drinks that stuff at the start and then dies/falls apart...........WTF is that all about?!

The monster thing that looks like the Trash compactor from SW, that kills those two who go wondering off. So, they start off like that, then climb down your throat and take you over, then turn you into something else, which when it reproduces creates a sort of massive face hugger/squid thing, which THEN impregnates you with something that turns into Xenomorph!?
Seems a tad long winded to me!

Why did Charleze Theron not get then out? The plot was perfectly set for her to get them out, and yet nothing! :lol:

Am I the only one who thinks the, almost inevitable, sequels (to the prequel) have the potential to be very much Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions-esque!?

Think that was the engineer's spreading their DNA over the different worlds as you then saw his DNA break up into the river thus starting human evolution to what we are today

Remember the thing that turned into the huge facehugger thing was from Shaw as she had it cut out and left it in the surgery tube/table. I think the thing (trash compactor monster) that went into the throat of one of the ones that goes wandering off was just the engineers weapon that manipulate the atmosphere and spawns those types of monsters

The thing I still don't get is the engineers ghosts that you see running round in a kind of static reality. How could we/they see them?

PS, surely those engineers could think of a less extreme way to spread their DNA than glorifed suicide!?

lots of women get them out in Piranha 3DD. ashame really because there is no need to make it look like soft porn when could have just been horror comedy and as such its only been given a limited release.

Not that I seem to care about it making less money though because I watched it online lol

Well...was a bit ****, if you ask me.
I hope there will be a directors cut out there with some more footage in it. Because what I saw at the cinema was pretty sloppy as far as the editing goes...not to mention the score :?
And what a stupid proto alien at the end. Is it a bird...is it a plane...wtf is it? Just looked retarded if you ask me. Would of rather they just left it with her getting the ****ing thing cut out of her, and that's it. We didn't need to see the mother of all facehugger abortions, or birdboy. :roll:
Overall, I guess it was enjoyable. Better than the the AVP movies at least. Fingers crossed for a better cut down the track.

The interview I posted at the start had Ridley Scott saying there was loads of extra footage so I dare a directors cut is inevitable. Dunno whether it will be an improvement or like Apocalypse Now Redux, just be a ****ing waste.

He also said he was working on a sequel to Bladerunner. Anyone wanna explain that to me!?

It did feel disjointed- especially at the end at the exspense of suspense. Hopefully that was for cinema rating and the directors cut will flesh it out a bit.
